The playoffs are here, and everyone is busy making their plans. But the US Congressman from New York’s 18th congressional district Patrick Ryan has a lot of people to care about. As he airs his gripes with the NFL broadcasting, he is sure to find many supporters amongst the fans.

This year, the NFL with Roger Goodell made an exclusive streaming deal with Peacock. And within that deal, the wild card game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins will only be available to stream. This is the issue that the congressman has decided to call out the NFL with.

A letter to the NFL for the fans

Congressman Ryan is concerned with the enjoyment of the fans of the game, demanding that the Chiefs vs the Dolphins game be televised as well. And the congressman did not hold back when writing down his grievances.

“It’s a disgrace”, wrote Congressman Ryan talking about the additional charges that fans will have to pay to stream the game. “Fans already pay exorbitant prices to watch every game during the regular season”, penned down the Congressman before calling out the NFL in a brutal way.

“They don’t deserve to be squeezed even further by greedy corporations”, the Congressman remarked. It is unclear whether this letter will make Goodell or the NFL make any changes. But one thing is clear, nobody, even the politicians, is going to miss this game.

A heated matchup on a cold evening

The game between the Chiefs and the Dolphins is set to be one of the coldest games this season. Not only that, but it is set to break the previous records for the coldest games for both the teams involved. But, only a set of players will be able to feel the warmth of qualification after the game.

This wild card game is on everyone’s mind and there are several reasons for it. Some of the best players in football, such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill, are going to step up. While the Chiefs won this fixture earlier in the regular season, the playoffs can be a different story altogether.

The highly awaited matchup will be played on 13th January at the Arrowhead Stadium. With kick-off scheduled at 7:10 PM CST.
