A couple of weeks ago, somewhere between suit fittings and playbook breakdowns, Shedeur Sanders was out there making his own version of “The Bachelor: NFL Edition.” You had the Titans throwing in a FaceTime cameo from Coach Prime himself, the Giants pulling out the charm card, and the Steelers giving off real “we’re-the-grownups-in-the-room” vibes. Meanwhile, some execs apparently didn’t vibe with his confidence—but let’s be real, since when did Deion Sanders’ kid ever show up just to blend in?
But amidst this chaos, there’s just one question looming over everyone’s heads: Where the heck will Shedeur go? The Titans are probably out, considering they’re interested in Cam Ward. The Browns? Uh, that’s the tricky part. Deshaun Watson is uncertain to return, and the rumor mill is buzzing that Cleveland might trade for Kirk Cousins. The Giants?
Well, let’s just call it Russell Wilson in Shedur Sanders out, considering Brian Daboll was absent at Colorado’s Pro Day. And by the time the Steelers even get a shot at the mic, Shedeur might already be chilling in someone else’s locker room. That left us with one potential team where we can see Sanders starting in the 2025 season—the New Orleans Saints. And that, folks, is where it all gets pretty interesting.

According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Saints are favorites to draft Sanders (+105) with their 9th overall pick. But why’s this sudden turn of events? I mean, a few weeks back, some said that the Giants are going to draft Shedeur, while the others believed that Coach Prime’s kid was going to slip down from the top 10. But here we are. With a new team lurking to draft Sanders, the NFL draft has now become a whole lot interesting.

A few days ago, ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. predicted in his latest NFL mock draft that the Saints are going to draft Shedeur with their 9th overall. The reason? Well, Kiper believed that Derek Carr is expected to play at least one season in New Orleans so Shedeur can develop as a backup before taking over. But, Carr is apparently dealing with a shoulder injury that could affect his availability for the next season.
There you go. No wonder sportsbooks bumped up the Saints’ odds to draft Shedeur. To make it spicier, even Coach Prime couldn’t help himself but to express his excitement about the draft. Deion Sanders took to his official ‘X’ handle and shared a post originally shared by ESPN’s Louis Riddick that says, “That 9th pick gonna be all kinds of interesting 🤞🏾.” Indeed!
Long story short: the Saints had a good chance to draft Sanders at 9 this month. But with Derek Carr’s injury, it has now become their urgency to draft him. Hence, the change in odds as per FanDuel Sportsbook. All in all, the Saints might just snag Shedeur in 2025—unless another team jumps in and drafts him first.

Tom Brady and the Raiders have their sight on Shedeur Sanders as well
Things are interesting in Vegas. They signed Geno Smith, sure, and enhanced his contract for two-year $75 million. But let’s not kid ourselves—it feels more like a temporary fix than a long-term marriage.
Long story short: despite trading for Geno, Tom Brady and Co. are still looking to draft a QB later this month. As a long-term option, to be precise—at least that’s what the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero believes. Let’s cut to the chase: the Raiders are hosting Shedeur Sanders today and they could draft him as a backup to Geno this year.
“Shedeur Sanders is headed to Las Vegas tonight for a visit with the Raiders,” Pelissero said on Good Morning Football. “Now, this is intriguing because, of course, Las Vegas earlier this offseason made the trade setting a third-round pick in Seattle for Geno Smith, who they also signed to an enhanced contract, but there certainly is always a longer term need at the quarterback position.” And here we are.

Now, the Saints are not the only team in pursuit of drafting Sanders. The Raiders are out there to probably use their No. 6 pick on Shedeur. “The Raiders, sitting at No. 6, are in a position where if–if–Shedeur Sanders slides out of those top three spots, potentially, that could be in play,” Pelissero said.
There’s surely room for Sanders in Vegas, considering Geno is now 34-years-old and the team’s also looking for a long-term option. So, New Orleans or Las Vegas? Guess we just have to wait a bit more to find that out.
