No matter how Saint you are, you are not getting saved by one if the herd is against you. Just ask Derek Carr. After Chris Olave’s scary injury, the critics are coming out of the woodwork, and it’s not just the fans. Even this former player is piling on Carr, and it’s getting a little rough out there.

Wow, ex-Saints WR Michael Thomas didn’t hold back at all, did he? I mean, talk about throwing shade! He took to social media to vent his frustrations, saying, “Get him [Carr] the f-ck outta here. He’s so a–.” Ouch! You can practically feel the heat radiating off that tweet. It’s like watching a player get sacked—cringe-worthy. Yet you can’t look away.

The injury itself was a tough watch. Carr threw a pass that landed right between a pair of defenders, and that’s when things went south for Olave. He got sandwiched by the Panthers’ defensive backs, and it was all downhill from there.

Thomas has some history with Carr, playing alongside him in 2023. But let’s be real, their time together was anything but stellar. With only 10 games to his name that season, Thomas didn’t exactly walk away singing Carr’s praises.

Remember when he tweeted, “Dude tried to lie and say I was jealous of them making Chris WR1”? That’s a shot right through the heart! And then he followed up with a jab about how the Saints “fired all them coaches trying to cover up his flaws.” Talk about calling out your own team!

It raises some serious questions about what’s going on behind closed doors with the Saints. Is Carr really the answer for this offense? Or is he just another problem? Thomas clearly thinks the latter as he literally dug the past up.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Derek Carr to blame for Chris Olave's injury, or is it just bad luck?

Derek Carr and Michael Thomas? Well, their time together on the Saints wasn’t exactly a match made in heaven. It’s like pairing a cheese lover with a vegan—hmm, weird combo, right? Same with Carr and Thomas. They never clicked.

Sure, Thomas had a solid season last year, finishing with 39 catches for 448 yards and a single touchdown in just 10 games. Not too shabby. But it’s like his glory days have faded away. Remember when he led the league in catches for two straight seasons (that was in 2018 and 2019)? Back then, he was the king of the field, racking up 1,725 receiving yards with 149 catches.

But injuries, like that pesky defensive back who always seems to show up uninvited, have plagued Thomas. And as expected, his snaps decreased. Kept decreasing, to the point where he played just seven games in 2020, missed the entire 2021 season, and only managed three appearances in 2022.

Last season marked a bit of a comeback for him, being the most he’d played since 2019. But let’s be real—catching passes from Carr didn’t exactly reignite the fire. Leaving the fans and the franchise asking one question: “Where’s that All-Pro form we fell in love with?” Even with all that drama, the Saints managed to finish 9-8 during Carr’s first season. But the playoffs? Nope, they came up just short.

Guess that’s what Thomas brought up in those tweets of his. Right from blaming the Saint for firing coaches to Carr covering up his flaws (allegedly) by calling out Thomas. I mean, the man’s out of the team, so he’s using that to his leverage. And it’s clear the two are not sending each other holiday cards anytime soon.
