Atlanta Falcons Head Coach may be just treading into dangerous waters. They are currently at the top of the NFC South division with a 4-3 record. Bijan Robinson, the Falcons’ star RB, played only 6 snaps in the game against the Buccaneers on Sunday, which the Dirty Bird won 16-13. But in the media interaction following the game, Smith denied all claims that there was anything wrong with the player. Robinson did not even feature on the injury report on Wednesday. What’s cooking?

Rather than truthfully answer reporter’s questions, Arthur Smith, seemed a little too arrogant in his interaction with the media. That has further fuelled speculations as to what is actually going on between Smith and Robinson.

A parody account going by the name of Dolphins’ HC, Mike McDaniel took to X, to share a video of the viral interaction. The post was captioned, “This is what happens when Arthur Smith, the son of one of the richest men, Frederick Smith (FedEx founder) becomes an #NFL HC. Snarky, brat like behavior at the podium.” He did that there was no issue with Bijan Robinson and he was good to go for the Titans game.

However, he did not handle it in the composed manner that was expected of him. Instead, he shot back a sarcastic reply. “It’s whoever has the hot hand. Maybe I’ll have to go tell [Titans coach Mike Vrabel], ‘Hey, [Tyler] Allegier got the hot hand. I’m gonna give him fifteen carries.’ Maybe that’s what I need to do. If that’s where we’re headed. Just make sure I don’t upset anybody and their fantasy team. So maybe I’ll yell across to [Vrabel], ‘Hey we’re gonna give [Cordarrelle Patterson] another carry here.’”.

Arthur Smith just doesn’t understand the problem with hiding the truth about the real status of running back Bijan Robinson’s illness on Sunday. Even before the Buccaneers game, there was no sign of Bijan on the injury report, and yet, just 6 snaps into the game he was pulled out. “I understand outrage and drama sells. Guys, if you really understand how things really operate…there’s nothing there. So, I don’t know what, I haven’t given one second of thought about it,” Smith said to the media, according to ESPN. What are the consequences of hiding a player’s injury?

All this for just… fantasy football?

The billionaire’s son isn’t worried about what the NFL might do for not officially reporting Bijan Robinson’s injury. As of Wednesday, the NFL still hasn’t released any statement about what consequences might befall the Falcons. But it doesn’t mean that Smith is completely off the hook. In fact, Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports reported that the NFL was going to follow up with the Falcons for not revealing the true status of Bijan’s illness.

Hiding the illness of a key player undermines the integrity of the several million mages made on fantasy football platforms. While the NFL regularly waxes about protecting the “integrity” of the game, it needs to be concerned about connected events as well. Will the NFL finally knock on the doors of Arthur Smith and the Atlanta Falcons and bring to light what really has been happening behind closed doors?
