Buffalo has been knocking on the Super Bowl door for years. The problem? Patrick Mahomes. Plain and simple. It’s the #15 problem. The Bills have tried everything—offensive fireworks, defensive upgrades, Josh Allen going full Superman. But when it comes down to it, they just don’t have that one unstoppable force on defense. Enter Myles Garrett…
Maybe, just maybe, there’s still hope Bills Mafia. A hope int he form of the Defensive Player of the Year who just announced he’s done wasting his prime on Cleveland’s yearly implosions.
Garrett isn’t asking for more money. He’s asking for a ring. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton. It has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl,” he said. Translation? Get me out of here. And Bills tackle Dion Dawkins wasted no time putting Buffalo’s name in the hat.

He straight-up went on Good Morning Football and all but begged the front office to make it happen. Not only that, he’s willing to restructure his own $60 million contract to make room. That’s dedication. That’s a man who understands what it takes to take down Mahomes.

“I want Myles with us,” Dawkins said. “I play against the guy, and I know what type of character he is… What type of fear he brings on the football field.” That last part? That’s the key. The Bills need someone who makes quarterbacks see ghosts. Von Miller was supposed to be that guy, but let’s be real—Buffalo’s better off thinking about the future.
So, in that case, someone as explosive should carry the baton forward. Garrett fits the Bill (pun intended).
But here’s the tricky part—Buffalo’s cap situation is about as tight as a two-minute drill with no timeouts. Even if Dawkins restructures, they’ll need to shuffle more contracts. Allen’s maybe. Then some more. And let’s not forget what Cleveland will ask for in return. Multiple first-rounders? Probably. The Browns aren’t about to let Garrett go for peanuts, and if they do, don’t forget Lamar Jackson’s also a fan of Garrett.
Dawkins, though, doesn’t care. He’s practically pounding the table, telling GM Brandon Beane to “move the chess pieces.” He wants Buffalo to go all-in. And honestly? He’s right. The window doesn’t stay open forever. Allen is in his prime, the core is still intact, and the only thing standing between Buffalo and the Lombardi is the same old problem—getting past Mahomes.
Meanwhile, in Cleveland, there’s another tussle that’s going on. Or should I say tug of war? But it’s clear that the fans are not liking what the franchise is pulling by denying Myles Garrett his right to move to greener pastures.
Fans have sided with Myles Garrett over the Browns’ denial
The Dawg Pound has seen its fair share of chaos, but this? This is a new level of dysfunction. Myles Garrett—the best player the franchise has had in decades—asks for a meeting with the owner, and Jimmy Haslam basically ghosts him? So, the fans did let the team know.
One fan summed up the frustration perfectly: “Nah. I fully support Myles Garrett. I hope he sits out the entire year. Ownership gave Watson all that money for no reason. Screwed the fans and the team. Best player on the team comes to talk amid trade requests, and you treat him like some peasant? Gladiator vibes.”
That’s how you treat a guy who’s given everything to this team? No! But it’s refreshing to see the fans seeing what’s fair despite Garrett’s trade request.
And it’s not just fans. Craig Carton absolutely torched Haslam, saying, “He has not been a good owner. Myles Garrett will never play another down for the Cleveland Browns, and I don’t blame him.” Hard to argue when your franchise cornerstone asks for a face-to-face and gets told to take it up with the GM instead.

That’s like the captain of your sinking ship radioing for help, and the owner forwarding him to customer service. Some fans kept it short and not-so-sweet. One simply put it: “They basically gave Myles Garrett 2 middle fingers.” The frustration is real. This isn’t just about losing a star—it’s about how it’s all playing out in public.

Another fan pointed fingers at the front office, saying, “Andrew Berry should have had the pulse of the locker room and kept this Myles mess out of the media. This hurt the value of the trade possibilities after every team knows Myles wants out. The inmates have been running the asylum for too long in Cleveland. I say good for Jimmy!”
That’s the divide. Some fans want Garrett to walk because they feel he deserves better. Others are siding with the team, believing Haslam is finally taking a stand after years of letting players run the show. The Browns are digging in, refusing to even discuss a trade, while Garrett is reportedly ready to sit out games if he doesn’t get moved. That’s a standoff Cleveland really doesn’t need.
One fan made it clear where they stand: “The Browns aren’t a Myles Garrett away from a chip, let that dude go to greener pastures man.” That’s the harsh truth—Cleveland is nowhere near contending. Garrett has racked up over 100 sacks, forced 20 fumbles, and been the heart of this defense. But even he can’t carry a franchise that refuses to get out of its own way.

At this point, it’s a matter of who blinks first. Cleveland is holding firm. Garrett is standing his ground. And fans? Well, they want to move past all this mess as soon as possible.
