Recently, sports analysts Pat McAfee, Rich Eisen, and other guests were talking about “roughing the passer.” This refers to when a defender aggressively targets the quarterback’s head or neck region with the crown of their helmet, the faceguard. It’s a foul. Similarly, it’s against the rules for defenders to bow their heads and deliver a forceful hit with their helmet to any part of the quarterback’s body. All of them agreed it was not being carried out properly.
Meanwhile, McAfee lauded Rich Eisen for being able to manage so many things at once. Rich is now doing NFL icons, the Germany game, NFL Game Day, his daily show, and all the rules spotlight.
Everyone clapped when McAfee finished counting all the shows where Rich had been seen. Echoing the sentiment shared by many, McAfee praised Eisen, calling him an “inspiring pal” and a “genius” for his insightful commentary. He said: “Keep going Rich, keep going, inspiring pal.”
McAfee highlighted players’ frustration as Eisen dissected the rules during a recent broadcast.
While Eisen dutifully explained the regulations, McAfee humorously interjected, suggesting that players were likely thinking, “Oh Rich, shut the f*ck up.” He said it and mentioned that it was not out of disrespect but because of the shared vexation with the message being delivered. Not just that, Eisen recently celebrated his 20 years with the NFL.
