This could very well have been Bill Belichick’s last game with the Pats. The Jets had a 15-game losing streak against the New England Patriots. But on Sunday, they snapped it. Everyone expected Belichick to end this season on a positive note. After all, history was on his side. Alas, that was not to be. They went a disheartening 3-17 against New York.
In the post-game conference, he disappointed fans again. He refused to give a clear answer as to what direction his career will take in 2024. But what did the HC have to say about yet another defeat?

Eager to gauge his reaction, reporters asked him how he felt about the loss. But in typical Belichick fashion, his answers were monosyllabic, or at best very concise. He said, “Things need to be fixed.” And also added that he wasn’t proud of the outcome of the Sunday game. But what was he going to do about it? He repeated a line we’ve come to hear from his mouth at so many points during the season.
Belichick says “things need to be fixed” and said he’s not proud of the results.

He said he would do what he had done so many times. Help his team win games. Then the reporters went into dangerous territory. They asked him what his future looked like. Would he stay on with the Pats? Would he retire from the game itself? Or if he would switch to another team and try to win there.
What could Bill Belichick’s future look like?
According to Yahoo! Sports, his coaching staff colleagues admitted that they also were in the dark. They said that they did not know what was in owner Robert Kraft’s mind. They were even unsure if Kraft had a made a decision regarding his HC. Belichick himself during yesterday’s press conference, said that no verdict had been arrived at. “As far as any decisions or direction for next year, it’s way too early for that.”
