In 2025, after the Eagles’ Super Bowl win, the biggest buzz in the NFL has to be about Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders topping the 2025 NFL Draft. I mean, everyone’s talking about it. Hold that thought! Looks like this year’s draft rankings are about to get messier. The reason? Well, if reports are to be believed, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart is expected to overtake Sanders as the second-best QB in this year’s class.
You heard me. ESPN’s Matt Miller reported that an unnamed NFL GM sees a “Strong Possibility” that Dart can overtake Sanders as the second-best QB in this year’s class. But he needs to show a strong showing at the combines as per the GM. Now, if you’re thinking that it can affect Sanders’ mindset or let’s just say his performance and personality—think again. Because, when asked how he was feeling, the QB went straight up and replied, “Legendary.”
On top of that, Sanders is confident that he’s going to be a game-changer. “If you ain’t trying to change the franchise or the culture, don’t get me,” he said at the NFL Scouting Combine. “So, you should know history repeats itself over and over and over and I’ve done it over and over and over. So it should be no question why NFL franchise should pick me.” And believe me, that’s not all.

The guy just clarified that he’s not worried about what the critics say. The reason? The 23-year-old QB believes that people hating on him is normal and he likes the adversity. “You think I’m worried about what critics say, what people gotta say? You know who my dad is? They hate it on him too. So it’s like it’s almost normal without people hating. It’s not normal for us, so we like the adversity.”
Now, one thing’s for sure—Sanders isn’t losing sleep over whether he gets drafted second overall or not. The guy already helped turn around Jackson State and Colorado, and now, he’s set on making his mark in the pros.
Sure, Dart has been making some serious noise since the Senior Bowl. And, honestly, just look at his final season at Ole Miss—4,279 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, only six interceptions, and a 69.3% completion rate. With numbers like that, it wouldn’t be shocking if he jumps ahead of Sanders as the second-best QB in the draft.
But let’s not forget what Sander did. The guy threw for 4,134 yards, racked up 37 TDs, completing 74% of his passes. Of course, Dart and Sanders had the best season of their collegiate career and are a potential candidate for top draft picks. Now, we just have to wait until April to see if a franchise takes Dart with the second overall pick—or if a team shocks everyone and grabs Sanders at No. 1. Unless, the QB pulls out some blunder amidst all this.

Shedeur Sanders’ careless blunder almost threatened his draft stock
Just when we’re all busy on a debate, if the teams are going to draft Sanders early or not, the QB was out there making some terrible choices. Picture this: several teams are calling you, texting you, and trying to read out to you, and you’re just not available. That’s what happened with Sanders. However, it was purely unintentional. The thing is, Sanders got a new phone, got the new number, but the teams? Well, they had been texting on a number he no longer had access to.
“I think my other phone that they have the number, I think that phone, I can’t find that phone in my house,” he explained on ‘2Legendary’ podcast on YouTube. “So they just find a way to contact it [laughing]. I don’t know how, bro, I don’t know where the phone is. I asked my mom five times to try and find it in the house and when I was at the Shrine Bowl, they were like, ‘Yeah, we text your number’. I’m like, ‘Bro, I don’t even have that number anymore. So I know my other phone, that works right now.”
You see, the QB had scheduled meetings with the Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, and the Tennessee Titans ahead of the draft. The catch? Well, despite the phone call blunder, the QB is confident that he knows about his scheduled meetings with the Browns, Titans, and Giants.
