As the 2025 NFL Draft talks kicked off, there was plenty of speculation about which QB would rise to the top: Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders? Draft analysts quickly determined that Ward was the top prospect, with Sanders taking the second spot. But hold on—this might not be the final word. Over time, Sanders started slipping further behind other strong contenders. And now, the Colorado story takes another horror turn as the young QB’s draft hopes have taken yet another hit.

Yes! Shedeur Sanders’ future is looking uncertain. Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers had shown some interest, but things have shifted. Why? Well, it’s because the recent reports are painting a tough picture. Some insiders are seriously questioning his potential. According to MLFootball on X, via Tom Pelissero’s report, “A #NFL coach says Shedeur Sanders s—- at everything.”

This NFL coach called his interview the “worst,” saying, “Worst formal interview I’ve ever been in in my life. So entitled. Takes unnecessary sacks. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates, the biggest thing is, he’s not that good.” Now, that’s a harsh critique for Shedeur Sanders. But that’s not all!

Others are saying his game doesn’t hold up either. One general manager pointed out that Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss had better game tape than Shedeur Sanders. Furthermore, an AFC executive also raised concerns about his attitude in the locker room, saying he acts like he’s the one who knows best. Now, that’s even more troubling, as an NFL GM noticed a drop in Sanders’ performance this year, as he led the college football with a 74% completion percentage in 2024.

But if you ask Chase Daniel, who analyzed Sanders’ game, he clearly said, his game is at “Pro Level Stuff.” It’s because “Shedeur Sanders is excellent in the pocket when he’s protected. Next level movement in the pocket to buy time & affect defenders with his eyes.” However, it was his opinion, per NFL coaches, that Sanders might not be that great, especially with his attitude.

So, all in all, it all feels like his draft stock is slipping away. The clock’s ticking, and with each report, it looks like Sanders might not be the top pick many once thought he’d be. However, if you ask the quarterback himself, his only words for the upcoming draft are – “I could bring cameras and eyes anywhere I go. It doesn’t matter where I go. I know the influence I have on society and on culture. So wherever I go, it’s definitely going to be an improvement over what it was before I got there.” With two contradictory opinions, it becomes interesting to see what’s in store for the Colorado star.

Until then, the Steelers seem to be interested in him, as Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that the meeting with him was “a very productive one.” And who knows, he might turn out to be a great QB in the future, as his Johnny Manziel-like fate is lingering?

What’s your perspective on:

Is Shedeur Sanders the next Johnny Manziel, or will he prove critics wrong in the NFL?

Is Shedeur Sanders like Johnny Manziel?

The 2025 NFL Draft is almost here, and all eyes are on Shedeur Sanders. Teams like the Giants, Steelers, and Saints have been thrown around, but honestly, nobody knows where he’s going yet. It’s all rumors and guesses right now. And just to make it even more wild, ESPN’s Peter Schrager compared Sanders to Heisman winner Johnny Manziel.

Yeah, that Johnny Football! Schrager said Sanders is the most interesting prospect since Manziel—a guy who could go as high as No. 2 or tumble all the way to the late first or early second round. Remember, back in 2014, everyone thought Manziel would be a top pick. Instead, he slid to No. 22, while his teammates Jake Matthews and Mike Evans went much earlier.

Manziel had monster stats but lost his way with personal struggles after hitting the NFL. Now, don’t get it twisted—Sanders isn’t caught up in any of that off-field drama. His road is still wide open. Some people even wonder if he’ll go ahead of big names like Travis Hunter or Cam Ward. Well, in Green Bay, Shedeur Sanders will finally find out if he’s a top-10 star or if he’s left waiting a little longer. Either way, it’s gonna be emotional!
