Should the Raiders tank the season for Shedeur Sanders, or is this strategy too risky?

Lot of plays or Tom Brady’s personality have the power to influence many. However, once in 2022, he mentioned, “I’ve never quit on anything in my life.” Though many took it as a quote related to his then-retirement plans or a possible chance on his then-divorce rumors with Gisele Bundchen. But Brady himself chose the other path, which he thought was right at that time. Hence, now, Shannon Sharpe thinks the same way, demanding a quit from the Raiders. Why? Let’s know what happened!

In an episode of Nightcap, Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson discussed the NFL. During this discussion, Sharpe expressed his demand, or rather call it an idea that could benefit the Raiders and college football star quarterback, Shedeur Sanders. He said, “The possibility of getting Shedeur Sanders and I have the Lions draft pick….for a second, I would trade the first, because I know where I’m going to be picking, it’s gonna be way down.

Now to explain the context, Johnson and Sharpe were actually having a back-and-forth about the Las Vegas Raiders potentially giving up on the current season and starting fresh. So, in the process, Johnson questioned if Sharpe was suggesting they tank the season, essentially giving up to rebuild from scratch. The former tight end agreed to this, and also mentioned the possibility of drafting Shedeur Sanders, besides having the Lions’ draft pick. Hence, a double benefit.

Now hearing upon this, Johnson got excited and praised Sharpe’s idea, suggesting that it could actually work. However, what about Maxx Crosby who is in the trade rumors at present? Johnson then mentioned how Crosby could be traded to the Lions, adding to their defense. And in this way, Sharpe suggested the Raiders could get a second-round pick for Crosby. But hold on!

At this point, Johnson felt that Crosby was worth a first-rounder, so how could he go into the second round? In order to clear things up and explain his idea, Sharpe confidently added that he’d take the deal because the pick would be a late one. Hence, in this way, Maxx Crosby will join the Lions and pick up where Aidan Hutchinson left off. Moreover, in this way, the Raiders could start from scratch and draft Sheduer Sanders too, to avoid their quarterback curse.

Will Sheduer Sanders get drafted to the Raiders?

The possibility could be yes! It is because Colorado Buffs star QB Sheduer Sanders met Raiders’ owner, Mark Davis on Friday, October 4. The occasion? Well, it was not a draft discussion or something; it was actually Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals where Las Vegas Aces won against the New York Liberty.

Now after the game, Sanders and Davis were seen shaking hands with each other and talking for a while about the quarterback’s games and dad, Deion Sanders. In that viral video, the owner said,I’ve been following you. I watch all your games,” arguably hinting his interest in the QB. Hence, many believe that a Raiders’ draft is likely to happen next year for Sanders.

And if this happens, as Shannon Sharpe too believes, Sanders could end up being the new face of the team, eventually ending their quarterback curse.
