Yet again, it all came down to a last-second field goal to determine the winner between the Bears and the Packers. Although it looked like the Bears were finally going to snap their 10-game losing run against their bitter rivals. Packers’ defensive lineman Karl Brooks had some other ideas as he stepped up to block Cairo Santos’ 46-yard field goal attempt. This not only stretches the Bears’ winless run against the Packers to 11 games. It also brought them their third consecutive loss of the season.

Well, this massive result against their divisional rivals led their receiver, Jayden Reed, to mock them on social media. Taking to his X, Reed posted, “HELP THE BEARRR!!! 😭😂😂.” Seeing them lose yet another game that leaves them at the bottom of their division. The Bears do need some help, as their season is already going out of their hands after this bitter loss. But it could have been different if not for questionable decisions.

The Bears had a golden opportunity to finally beat the team that they haven’t won against since 2018. With only 1 minute remaining on the clock, Caleb Williams drove the Bears’ offense for a field goal opportunity. After throwing it to Roschon Johnson, the Bears still had 36 seconds on their hand. But they decided to go for a timeout and didn’t bank on a closer-range field goal attempt.

And that proved to be costly as the Bears kicker ended up missing his 46-yard field goal. Well, you can’t really put all the blame on Santos’s kick, as he needed to generate power with a low-line drive. Otherwise, the kick wouldn’t have made it through the two posts if it hadn’t been blocked. As for Caleb Williams, he had a great day on the field for the first time in a while. Finishing with 23-of-31 passes for 231 yards, Williams finally helped the Bears break their TD drought.

Him finding Johnson for a one-yard TD late in the first half, brought the Bears their first TD after 26 scoring drives. However, it still wasn’t enough, as fans did appreciate Williams’ effort, “Not the outcome we wanted. But think bigger picture, #Bears fans. Caleb Williams did EVERYTHING you wanted to see today. He was the reason the Bears had a chance to win the game.” Although the Bears didn’t capitalize on a massive chance to snap their losing streak, the Packers continue their charge for a playoff spot. It was Jordan Love who ran for the final TD that gave the Packers a one-point lead before the Bears scoring drive. Still, with 2:59 minutes remaining in Chicago, the Packers only had to hold for a few minutes. And they did by sacking Caleb Williams in the next two plays. While the Bears only had to settle for a long-range field, Love had a decent outing. He completed 13-of-17 passes for 261 yards while throwing just a single TD.

However, the interception he threw today was his 11th of the season. It could be a concern for the Packers, as Love only threw 11 interceptions last season. Elsewhere, their running back Josh Jacobs put up 76 rushing yards with a TD in the third quarter. Even Brenton Cox, Rashan Gary, and T.J. Slaton all recorded sacks against the Bears O-line. Well, speaking after the game, Love opened up about the importance of winning this game, “Much needed win. We knew it would be a four-quarter battle and it was. Came down to the last play.”

Seeing a repeat of last week’s Chiefs vs Broncos, where Leo Chenal blocked Wil Lutz’s field goal attempt. No matter what the result, this game was pure entertainment for all the neutrals out there. But for the Bears, it is a concern as their search for a win against the Packers continues.
