While players like Caleb Williams, Laiatu Latu, and more had already been chosen in the first round, others were waiting for it to go into round 2. Just hours ago, it was revealed that Travis Kelce’s Chiefs have traded up four spots with the Bills to get their pick and draft Texas WR Xavier Worthy.
It might have been a celebratory moment for both the team and the young star. However, a former Panthers linebacker, Luke Kuechly ended up stating that Travis Kelce is the true winner behind the team’s latest addition.

The 33-year-old continued by saying that bringing in players like Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy created “all these layers in the defense” for Kelce to “run around even more than he’s been able to.” Kuechly also claimed that the draft pick and latest addition to the team proved that coach Andy Reid had something creative up his sleeve by bringing in the two players.
While the coach’s plans may be revealed once the season kicks off later in the year, there is no doubt that Worthy will be striving towards earning his spot in the Chiefs beside Travis Kelce and Mahomes. After all, the 20-year-old claimed to have an inkling that he would wind up with them.

The 20-year-old claimed that he had “been saying it since the beginning of the year.” He was sure that he was going to join the Chiefs. Although he wound up being right, he added that he was most excited about joining Tyreek Hill’s draft team and playing with “Pat.”
With Worthy looking forward to teaming up with Patrick Mahomes, who he called, “One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time,” it will be interesting to see how the two fare on the field together. Will Worthy prove to be an asset to Travis Kelce and the team? The path seems somewhat positive for now but the 2024 season will bring forth the answers!
