In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Indianapolis Colts picked Anthony Richardson at fourth. They believed that Richardson is raw and can develop into a Josh Allen-like threat on the field. But now with sitting at 4-5, the Colts fans might have started losing hope, especially when that “tiredness” incident happened.
After a lot of suggestions, advice and slamming, Richardson now is getting a lesson from his senior, Patrick Mahomes. How? Well, what happened is, the Chiefs were facing against the Buccaneers on Monday, November 4. During the game, the quarterback, via Sports Columnist Sam McDowell, “injured the same ankle he rolled last week.”
But was that injury a scary one? Well, Patrick Mahomes revealed the horror, but made sure to come back no matter what. According to McDowell, this injury wasn’t “as severe as the injury he had in the playoffs two years ago.” Hence, Mahomes said, “It scared me a little bit.” But that’s not where the story ends!

After he felt a tweak in his ankle, coach Andy Reid asked Mahomes to sit back in the blue tent, and told backup Carson Wentz to be ready to go. But Patrick Mahomes being the challenge taker, stopped Reid and insisted that he wanted to stay in despite the injury scare. With this, he set standards for the players who exit the game without the injury, such as what Anderson did during a game against Texans last week.
The Colts’s QB left the game during the third down, tapping his head, which he later addressed being fatigued. This incident, as obvious, brought questions on his table, with many criticizing him saying that they haven’t seen such type of incident ever. And today, Patrick Mahomes gave an example, despite his major ankle concern.
Patrick Mahomes is the master of comebacks!
In a nail-biting game, Patrick Mahomes gave Chiefs fans quite a scare. Late in the fourth quarter, he awkwardly rolled his already-tender ankle. When he dropped to the ground in pain, the entire stadium fell silent. Baffled with what happened, the Chiefs’ medical team didn’t wait as they rushed to help him. And as they guided him off the field, hearts of the fans were racing. But Mahomes, being a fighter, came back!

After a quick check in the medical tent, he was back out, ready to keep pushing and leading the team to win. But it’s not like nobody stopped him. Coach Andy Reid considered pulling him, half-joking that Patrick Mahomes “might have the loosest ankles in America. I mean it’s ridiculous how he can come back from those things.” But Mahomes wasn’t backing down.
With grit and fire, he returned to the field, with the injury scare, and “orchestrated a crucial, 15-play, 78-yard drive, hitting DeAndre Hopkins for a touchdown to pull ahead.” However, the Buccaneers managed to force overtime, but Patrick Mahomes stepped up again. He led a “masterful 10-play, 70-yard march, delivering the final blow and securing a 30-24 win, keeping the Chiefs undefeated at 8-0.” What a game, and what a comeback by Mahomes!
