That’s a blow for the Foxborough team! With just 1 win into the season and 5 losses, the New England Patriots faced another stress on Wednesday.
According to Underdog NFL on X, “(Boston Globe’s Ben Volin reported): Drake Maye (knee) underwent MRI after Wednesday’s practice.” Now that’s a major hit to the team as they were preparing to face off against the Jaguars this Sunday in London.
So what happened was, Drake Maye showed up on the Patriots’ injury report with a knee issue, and at first no one was freaking out because he practiced fully. But, as per latest reports, he underwent an MRI, which means it might be more serious than anyone thought.

Maye already took some serious hits during his first NFL start against the Texans (like 4 sacks and 8 QB hits), and now everyone’s wondering if he will be good to go for Sunday’s game. This is because, this time, the quarterback has the chance to improve by one more win after back-to-back losses.
Hence, if he can’t play due to injury, it could be a problem for the Patriots, especially since he helped them put up the most points they have scored all season. This is evident from the fact that Drake Maye helped the offense score 21 points, which is the most number scored all season. In addition to that, he led his team with “a season-high 243 passing yards and 291 total yards” this time.
Therefore, his potential exit is creating chaos on social media, as fans are worried about Maye and his current injury situation.

Drake Maye’s recent knee issue could become problematic for the Foxborough team. However, though Volin’s report looks alarming, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport, and Mike Garafalo’s reports, “Maye’s injury is no great concern.”
Nevertheless, fans are still worried about Maye’s situation, as one fan panicked, writing, “Right when I was feeling good about my team (neutral face emoji).” Now this injury is also making fans recall J.J. McCarthy’s case, where he too suffered a knee injury, and is still questionable to return. Hence, while recalling this, another one chimed in, “Oh boy… not JJ McCarthy 2.0.” Probably, this fan doesn’t want J.J. McCarthy’s other version, as the Vikings QB suffered a torn meniscus and underwent surgery.

Next, a person expressed, “Ah hell nah.” This expression clearly depicted that they weren’t expecting Maye to be out so soon. However, while some already lost their hopes in the Patriots, as they commented, “Please end the season already for goodness sake,” and “Yeah see y’all boys next year season over.”
Now whatever the situation is, one part of the Patriots’ fans want Drake Maye to return this October 20 for the matchup against the Jaguars.
