The Denver Broncos head coach, Sean Payton, shuts down the reporters inquiring about his and Russell Wilson’s on-field tiff. In the recent matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Detroit Lions, the Broncos’ HC was seen frustrated due to an offside penalty that obliterated the Broncos’ touchdown. Moreover, to relay his frustrations, Sean Payton yelled at Broncos QB Russell Wilson.

Undoubtedly, the NFL is a game of aggression and strength; such on-field tiffs are inevitable. For the Denver Broncos, it was not their best gameplay, and that too against the Lions. So the frustration and yelling could be natural, and all the more the reason why Sean Payton’s frustration piled up.

Denver Broncos’ Twitter account shared a video of the post-match conference featuring HC Sean Payton. When asked about the on-field tiff between him and Russell Wilson, Payton denied to shed light on it. However, he stated that he was upset with the call. When asked about what he discussed with Wilson, Payton brusquely said, “Listen, what I talk with Russell about is none of your business.”

The Broncos’ QB and the HC are successfully taking the team forward this season. After starting the season with a series of losses, the Denver Broncos have revived themselves with consecutive victories. However, the Broncos are now in the second position of the AFC West division, aspiring for their playoff qualifications.

Denver Broncos vs Detroit Lions

The crucial week 15 matchup took place at the Lions’ home stadium, Ford Field. Both these teams are strong playoff contenders, but their matchup didn’t live up to the expectations. The Lions dominated the game until the second quarter when the Broncos didn’t manage to score a single point. The Lions’ quarterback Jared Goff scored five touchdowns and contributed to six touchdown-leading drives. 

Goff along with the 6 TDs, completed 24 of his 34 passes for 278 yards. Moreover, the Broncos quarterback, Wilson completed 18 of his 32 passes for 223 yards, and a touchdown pass with a touchdown run. Until halftime the Lions were leading 21-0, and the Broncos scored their first point in the first possession. The game ended with a scoreline of 42-17, making it a tenth victory for the Lions in this season so far. The Broncos are still having their playoff aspirations intact.
