Los Angeles Rams fans were crying, watching that eyesore of a performance against a struggling team like Miami Dolphins. The offense didn’t really get into a rhythm. Consistent dropped passes, Stafford fumbling the ball on a couple of snaps, a missed field goal and a lot of other things stopped the Rams from getting a home win. Sean McVay was passive aggressive after the loss.
Matthew Stafford didn’t look like his usual self tonight and some of that blame might go to the Rams O-Line, who weren’t able to protect their QB on several occasions. Stafford took 4 sacks and threw a pick, and it didn’t feel like the former Super Bowl winner was in sync with his receivers. The media confronted McVay about the “sloppy” plays and this is what he had to say.
“Yeah, you know, I think there’s been a lot of instances where really we haven’t been consistent enough, you know, especially when you just look at it from, sloppy, yeah, I mean, there was some, you know, execution that has to be better, and I want to be able to go back and look at the tape,” McVay said with a disgruntled undertone.

Per the Rams head coach, the team had a problem executing “better with 11 as one.” That couldn’t have been more apparent because the only points the team scored came off of field goals. A lot of miscues took away from the Rams being able to secure first downs. Props to Miami’s defense who forced a couple of third and outs.
This is the eighth time in McVay’s career as a head coach when his team failed to score a touchdown. Also, this was the first time since November 5, 2023, that the Rams failed to score an offensive touchdown. One of the problems was also the fact that Rams didn’t run the ball as much. The LA team came out with 70 rushing yards where Kyren Williams did the majority of the heavy lifting.

Stars like Mookie Betts, LeBron James and a lot of veterans assembled to watch the Rams game, but they went home, disappointed. Even the Rams fans left the game early, knowing Stafford and his boys had no chance of a comeback. Miami, on the other hand, has a different story to tell.

That’s true to an extent. After Dolphins linemen Kendall Lamm and Robert Jones got injured, Tagovailoa was left with less protection than usual. The Dolphins QB was sacked thrice in the game, so the defense knew they had to rise up to the occasion. But later, the Dolphins cornerback Kendall Fuller exited the game with a concussion.
Regardless, the team came out with an interception from Anthony Walker Jr. and the defense also had 71 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 5 passes defended and six QB hits. If anything, this win made Mike McDaniel and his Dolphins shut down the naysayers who lost trust in the Miami team.

“This was an earned win because there was a lot of noise out there that could distract you … Our defense really galvanized the whole team,” McDaniel said in the postgame interview. With this loss, the Rams are headed to play against the Patriots while the Dolphins will host the Las Vegas Raiders at the Hard Rock Stadium.
