The Rams made a breakthrough by winning the week 14 matchup against the Bills at the SoFi Stadium. They were becoming this sort of an undefeatable team until the Rams came and beat them 44-42. It is a monumental achievement, considering Josh Allen had a 7 game winning streak before losing to the Rams. Everyone is taking lessons from the game.

Former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck appeared on the December 8 episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd to discuss the game. He pointed out the Bills’ Kryptonite that didn’t allow Josh Allen to win the game and said, “I thought what Sean McVay did is he understands what the Kryptonite is of the Buffalo defense. They really aren’t that great if you commit to running the ball, like, if you commit to it, you run the ball. I think that’s their Kryptonite.” That’s right.

We saw it in the Rams drive at 2:39 mark in the 2nd quarter at 1st & goal. Their receiver Puka Nacua got the ball and made a jet sweep motion to score a touchdown. As soon as he got the ball, the WR cut across the left instead of making any short passes. While the Bills relied more on passing (342 yards) than the Rams (320 yards), the home team had more rushing yards (137) than the visitors (103).

Now that the Rams HC has shown the strategy to all other 30 teams, the Bills have to prove their mettle during the week 15 matchup against the Lions. Hasselbeck also agreed and added, “Now the Buffalo defense has to prove to the rest of the league mainly Detroit next, that you know, they will basically stop the run first, which is the goal of most defenses, so it’s interesting.” The Lions game would be tough as they also have a 12-1 win-loss record.

The week 14 matchup was a great game for sure. But what happened at the post-game conference was also amazing. Many fans didn’t anticipate it.

Sean McVay praises Josh Allen with a unique compliment

Though the Rams won the game, Josh Allen also made history. He became the first NFL quarterback to score 3 passing and 3 rushing TDs in the same game. The Rams head coach also praised the Bills QB and said, “Josh Allen is an alien. Some of the stuff he can do and the things he can create. We knew he was capable of that. He’s shown that.

What’s your perspective on:

Did the Rams expose the Bills' Achilles' heel, or was it just a lucky break?

Have an interesting take?

Almost everyone agrees with the coach. He is an absolute beast on the field and can perform in almost any condition. We saw it in the snow-shower week 13 game against the 49ers when they won 35-10. While Brock Purdy had only 94 yards, Josh Allen recorded 148 yards with 2 touchdowns. That’s impressive.

McVay acknowledged this and endorsed the quarterback for the MVP and added, “He can beat you from the pocket, he can beat you with his mind, he can beat you with his arm, he can beat you with his legs. It’s why he’s a legitimate MVP candidate.” That’s a tremendous compliment.
