The Ravens choked again! Baltimore Ravens and Bills went head-to-head in a showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats until the very last moment. It was a close fight, with both teams throwing everything they had at each other. The score of 27-25 shows just how tight the game was, with each play feeling like it could change the course of the matchup. And this extended their 12-year-long wait for the Super Bowl to another year. The Ravens fought hard, but the Bills held their ground, managing to come out on top in a game that could’ve gone either way. Thanks to Coach Sean McDermott, who kept the defense alert and focused every minute. But what was the plan?
When the Bills wrapped up two quarters with a lead, CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson asked Sean McDermott how the Bills were managing to hold up against Ravens offensive star Derrick Henry. Coach McDermott had the most straightforward response, saying, “Well, we’ve got to keep it up. You can’t let down. You can’t relax. You’ve got to keep going, controlling the line of scrimmage.” That’s what he said at halftime. And honestly, the Bills nailed it.

As the game kicked off, the Ravens quickly took the lead with wide receiver Rashod Bateman finding the end zone in the first quarter. But Josh Allen and the Bills weren’t going to let that slide. They responded fast, with running back Ray Davis rushing in for the team’s first touchdown of the day, tying things up. The momentum shifted in the second quarter as the Bills took the lead, finding the end zone again. By halftime, the score stood at 21-10 in favor of Sean McDermott’s squad. The Bills were looking strong, controlling the game and keeping the Ravens on their heels.
The star running back Derrick Henry tried everything possible in his hands to give the Ravens a push. But sadly, it was Sean McDermott’s team’s day. Buffalo forced three turnovers and made two critical defensive stands that ultimately determined the outcome of the game.
The first two turnovers occurred on consecutive possessions following the opening score. Jackson threw an interception to Taylor Rapp, and Damar Hamlin later forced a fumble that Von Miller recovered, flipping field position in Buffalo’s favor. These key plays contributed to the Bills securing a 21-10 lead by halftime.
With this win, the Bills have moved a step closer to the SB, a feat they have been waiting to achieve since 1993. Also, it’s their first time after 2020 to reach the Conference Championship round. That time they lost it to the Chiefs. But this year they’ll need to conquer them.
Sean McDermott’s guys handed a defeat to the Ravens
In the third quarter, when things were looking a little bleak, the big RB Derrick Henry gave the Ravens the boost they needed. Henry powered his way through, putting up a touchdown and bringing the score to 19-21. The Ravens were right back in it, just two points behind the Bills. And it felt like they might be on the verge of turning the game around. Just when it seemed like the Ravens might pull ahead, Bills placekicker Tyler Bass stepped in to make sure his team stayed in control. First, with the game hanging in the balance, Bass nailed a field goal to push the lead to 24-19. But he wasn’t done. As the Ravens continued to press, Bass came through again, knocking another field goal through the posts to make it 27-19.

With those two kicks, Bass secured an 8-point cushion for the Bills, keeping the Ravens at bay. And making sure the Bills kept their momentum. Late in the fourth quarter, the Ravens made it interesting when Isaiah Likely caught a 24-yard TD pass from Lamar Jackson. The crowd gasped, and Ravens fans couldn’t help but feel a surge of hope. The score was now 25, just two points away from the Bills. And with only minutes left on the clock, it felt like a miracle was within reach. Fans were on the edge of their seats, praying for a quick stop and a chance to tie the game. The Ravens had fought hard all game, and this was their shot to make it a true nail-biter.
But as the clock ticked down, the Bills held firm. No last-minute magic for Baltimore this time. The time ran out, and the Ravens stood at 25, losing the game. And with that, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ season comes to an end. Josh Allen and Co. are headed to the conference championship to face the Chiefs. With the Super Bowl getting closer, it’s about to get even more exciting.
