Don’t we love how the tables turn in the NFL fast? One day you’re on top looking down on the others, and the next day someone pulls you down. And that’s what happened to the Seattle Seahawks this time. Even Geno Smith, who’s been securing wins for the team, couldn’t help them this time. Mike Macdonald’s guys not only slipped from their first spot in the division, but they also slipped away from a playoff chance. Before the coach gives them a scolding about this, Mike needs to call out one of his guys for doing dirty to Vikings QB Sam Darnold.
Many times, fans have called out the referees for not showing the flag. The most recent player to join the ‘dirty hit’ club is Seahawks DE Byron Murphy II. Byron, who face-masked Sam Darnold during the game, was called out by the referees. But when the media reached out to the DE post-game with the same question, he took no accountability for the incident. “I just scraped his face mask, and then I hit him in the collar and stuff. I just feel like it was a bull***t call, but it is what it is, it’s cool”, said the Texas Alum.
Ticked rookie DT Byron Murphy says of the facemask penalty he got while sacking Sam Darnold on 3rd down the play before Minnesota’s game-winning TD pass to Jefferson: “Bull-shit call.”

Byron should know that calling a referee’s decision “bull*t” isn’t going to do him any good. The 22-year-old, who just made his NFL debut this year, now risks facing an NFL punishment. The punishment could include a suspension or a fine, although there’s no official word on this yet. But when a player speaks like this against the referees’ decisions and rival players, NFL officiating is more likely to take action.
We get the frustration of losing out on the top spot. But having that attitude isn’t going to get you anywhere. Anyway, with the Vikings clinching a playoff spot after this win. Head coach Kevin O’Connell makes a strong MVP case for his QB, Sam Darnold.
Sam Darnold could bring the Vikings an MVP this season
The Vikings aren’t just eyeing the championship after their recent win. With their QB playing fiercely on the gridiron, they’re hoping he can bring home an MVP too. And this isn’t just about their recent win, this has been the talk of the NFL for quite some time now. With 13 wins under their belt, they’re proving they could be the best team in the league. And through all these wins, Darnold has been a huge contributor. The Vikings’ head coach has said it time and time again, his QB is a strong MVP contender. And after the recent win, he has one more reason to say it.
Well, this year’s race is getting pretty interesting! While everyone’s been watching Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson do his thing at the top of the list, Josh Allen just stormed into the conversation. Talk about making a statement – the Bills QB absolutely lit it up against Detroit on Sunday, throwing for a whopping 362 yards! Rounding things out, we’ve got two more amazing quarterbacks in the mix, plus a running back who’s been turning heads with some seriously explosive plays. The race is definitely heating up!

Let’s be real – Josh Allen’s got this thing on lock right now, and for good reason! The guy’s been absolutely crushing it with 37 touchdowns (tied for tops in the league among QBs), and he seems to have this magical ability to show up biggest when the pressure’s on. But don’t sleep on Lamar Jackson! He’s been quietly creeping up these past few weeks, making this race way more interesting than people might think along with Darnold.
So, in the middle of the game, Coach O’Connell had this mic issue while he was talking to the team on the field. While they were trying to sort out a new battery pack for his headset, Darnold stepped up. The QB ran to the sideline to get the play call straight from the coaches for the next play. Pretty quick thinking on his part, right? The coach overwhelmed by his efforts called it an ‘MVP Performance.’
He’s making a strong case for the MVP. So far, Darnold has 32 TDs and 3,776 yards. If he wins an MVP honor, he’ll be the fourth Vikings QB to do it. The last time a Vikings player won the MVP was in 2012. But there’s time for that. Right now, we’re all focused on the exciting matchup between the Vikings and the Lions in the first week of January.
