Russell Wilson mentoring a Seahawk's son—proof that his Seattle love never dies?

You can take Russell Wilson out of the Seattle Seahawks, but you can’t take the Seahawks fan out of him! Wilson donned the Hawks’ jersey for nine seasons (2012-2021) before moving to the Denver Broncos. However, the move ultimately turned out to be a disaster, as Wilson had two of the worst seasons of his NFL career in Denver. But now, the NFL star has a chance for a career reset with the Steelers. However, amid the strict preparations for the 2024 season, Wilson makes a great gesture for a former Seahawks player.

The former player in question is Tony Robinson, who was a part of the Seattle Seahawks previously. After his NFL journey was over, Robinson created a successful real estate empire for himself. On June 29, 2024, Tony ‘The Closer’ Robinson posted a clip on Instagram to thank Russell Wilson for training his son. In the clip, Wilson could be seen throwing the football to Tony’s son; seemingly preparing the youngster to be a future NFL wide receiver.

“Russell Wilson is a great guy took time today to make my son day,” wrote Tony Robinson. The Steelers QB also shared the clip on his Instagram story on July 8 and complimented the child. He wrote, “Young Star. The Next Generation.” Not just Russ, even his popstar wife Ciara Wilson was present during the practice session. After that, the 38-year-old singer has gone off to her much-awaited ‘Out of This World’ tour.

On July 6, Ciara returned to Seattle as a part of the ongoing tour! Not only was the show sold out, the fans even mobbed the ‘How We Roll’ star after her performance to show their love. However, not just the Seattle fans, even the franchise still has fond memories of the Wilson family.

Russell Wilson receives a surprise from the Seahawks

Though Russell Wilson left Seattle behind in 2021, his love affair with The 12s is eternal! On July 2, 2024, the 35-year-old received a pleasant surprise from his former franchise. The Seahawks sent Wilson a brand-new jersey with his name on the back. Mr. Unlimited shared the news on his social and posted a video of the jersey. In the video, the Ohio native recalled the “pleasant memories” of playing for the Hawks and revealed he was “forever grateful.”

Currently, Russell Wilson is on a strict training regimen to regain his fitness. Though the QB celebrated his 8th wedding anniversary on July 6, he isn’t skipping the football drills. Not only that, the Steelers No. 3 also got back inside the boxing ring with Freddy Roach for the first time since 2020. Judging by the pictures, Wilson looks to be in the shape of his life before the most important session of his NFL career.

Hence, taking a young kid like Tony Robinson’s son under his wing despite being under so much pressure just proves how great of a human being Russell Wilson really is. Will his training pay off? Only time will tell!
