Sauce Gardner‘s football life revolves around a single goal: to change the New York Jets. The cornerback is fantastic on the field, and he always puts on a terrific show for the crowd. But while Gardner has been extremely dedicated to the team, his frustration with them is a huge issue for him. But can you blame him? Gardner has defended his performance several times and blamed many reasons for the team’s loss. And it appears that the team’s so-called ‘GM’ has once again discovered a big mistake. Alert: Drama!

Let us recap a little bit. What was the Jets’ biggest challenge in 2024? Obviously the starting QB position. While Aaron Rodgers was sitting in this position last year, the veteran struggled to perform well. This did significant damage to the team’s offensive line, as well as the rest of the roster. While the season concluded a while ago, Gardner appears to be pointing out this error now. The 24-year-old noted that the team does not require an experienced quarterback, but rather one who can play out of the pocket.

He said that this would provide some variation to the offensive line, which can be met by a large number of players. The CB used X to reveal that NFL is filled with starting QBs like this and the team should go after them: “If you don’t have a vet QB who can make timing throws in tough windows, then you gotta have a QB who can escape the pocket if needed. Just look around, the majority of starting QBs around the NFL can scramble and throw on the run when needed. Only a few are exceptions -GM Sauce”

This may be an excellent suggestion from Sauce Gardner. The team can really look for a quarterback who can do these things and lock him in. By doing this, they can solve a lot of fuss surrounding their offensive line. The CB has previously stated that he wants to be a part of the changes on this team. And he is willing to devote his entire career to them in order to achieve his dream of change. But if he wants his ambition to come true and help the team win the Super Bowl, then it can only happen through two ways.

The Jets would also need to hear some of Gardner’s suggestions and maybe work on them. And then who knows. Maybe one suggestion can lead them to a big season win? But, based on the current situation, the team is maybe preparing to welcome a big QB soon. So, is it possible that Sauce Gardner isn’t happy?

Could Sauce Gardner’s tweet be related to the Jets’ impending trade of Derek Carr?

The Jets have been making headlines after the rumors surfaced that the team is seeking Derek Carr to replace Aaron Rodgers. Interestingly, Carr is the Saints‘ starting quarterback, but they could still consider trading him to New York. Aaron Glenn, the Jets’ new head coach, proposed the deal after seeing how well Jared Goff performed for the Lions. Carr may not be as big as Goff right now, but he still has promise.

The report claimed, “In this scenario, the Jets pick Carr up off the [New Orleans] Saints’ discard pile. It’s hard to know what the new Jets regime will be looking for after moving from Aaron Rodgers, but new coach Aaron Glenn saw the Lions win with an unwanted Jared Goff. Carr doesn’t have Goff’s upside, but he would raise the Jets’ floor. And as poorly as recent seasons have gone, New York has the players to launch a quicker turnaround than one might think.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Sauce Gardner right about the Jets needing a QB who can scramble, or is he overreacting?

Have an interesting take?

Due to all these things, the team may go for Derek Carr, which Sauce Gardner may not vibe with. This is why the CB could have sent this controversial tweet. And subsequently, when he realized that this tweet could hurt his relationship with the team or Carr if he came in. Perhaps this is why he erased it after only a few minutes of uploading. Man, the controversy in the Jets locker room is overblown. It will be interesting to see how Aaron Glenn handles all of this and helps the New York Jets become a team this season. Stay tuned for additional updates on them.
