Rain inside AT&T Stadium? Is this the most ridiculous concern for the Saints vs. Cowboys game?

AT&T Stadium is set for the Cowboys game against the Saints on September 15. Texas is expected to be hot and dry, with highs predicted to be in the upper 90s. On average, the forecast of 87°F Dome is expected to shadow the area with 0% precipitation and 6.75ESE of wind movement. The situation seems hopeful amongst the people still reeling from Hurricane Francine, which was the fourth hurricane this season.

Due to the warm waters in the western Gulf of Mexico, the storm rapidly moved from a tropical storm to a Category 2 hurricane. And people are blaming climate change for this. Despite the passing of the weather situation, it remained long enough to pour more than seven inches of rain in New Orleans.

Morgan City Fire Chief Alvin Cockerham has reported many issues, including flooded streets, broken-off power lines, and fallen trees.  “It’s worse than I thought it would be, honestly. It’s dangerous to be out there,” he said. But despite these obstacles, many Saints and Cowboys fans are still determined to make the trip for the big game. The positive factor for the football enthusiasts remains that the game will be played indoors, hence reeling less fear of the weather-affect on the play.

Some fans and their friends from different parts of America are even considering arriving earlier to avoid travel problems caused by the storm. “Basically, you can’t have weather stop you unless it’s catastrophic or devastating or things are ruined. You’ve got to go on and keep living life,” was the optimism reflected by the fans, showcasing their dedication toward the sport.

In the context of experiencing this, Saints have faced the same situation before. In 2020, Hurricane Zeta forced the Saints’ coaches to work on generator power to get the work done for the team. In 2021 because of Hurricane Ida, the Saints had to leave their home and reschedule it for the September 16 game against the Green Bay Packers. They also had to move to Jacksonville, Florida. In both cases, the team had to change the schedule to the storms.

Saints HC Dennis Allen personally discussed the situation with his athletes, “We’ll stay here this evening. We’ll probably find a corner of the room to lay down in at some point and get a little bit of sleep. Because the most significant weather is going to be this evening into the early morning hours.”

Other than the precautions the team also prayed for the residents of Louisiana. Linebacker Demario Davis mentioned, “You can have all the predictions in the world, but it’s still unknown as to what’s going to take place,” about the situation, informing that they had to cancel the meetings for Wednesday, and then on Thursday due to the weather issues. All football enthusiasts await further updates to be able to enjoy the game to the fullest without any external factors affecting it.
