Patrick Mahomes encountered two rare situations in his seven years of NFL career. One, the team suffered two consecutive losses, and second, his fans witnessed his first-ever sideline meltdown. However, Mahomes now wishes that he would have managed his frustration more effectively.

The reigning MVP got upset and banged his helmet when the Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t score due to a penalty on Kadarius Toney for being offsides. Mahomes, who was visibly fuming and had to be held back by teammates. Furthermore, he was also seen continuously expressing his frustration and yelling at the refs after the Week 14 game, even during the formal hug with his opponents. However, just a day after complaining about the type of play, in a post-game conference, Mahomes is now back with his apology note, learning an important lesson of life.

In the game’s final minutes, the Chiefs scored a wild touchdown with a lateral from Travis Kelce, but it was called back due to a penalty. The replay showed it was the right call as Chiefs’ receiver Kadarius Toney was offside. Despite this, Patrick Mahomes remained upset throughout the game, even during his interaction with Buffalo Bills’ QB, Josh Allen, and in the post-game press conference. However, just a day after it, Mahomes appeared on “The Drive” podcast, clarifying his stance and admitting his fault.

Mahomes justified his prompt behavior saying, “I was a big player in the game, man, obviously, gotten negated because of a foul….I didn’t even really know I heard the call but from where I was, you couldn’t even tell what really happened and I was trying to get an explanation and didn’t really get one,” therefore became displeased. However, the 28-year-old soon admitted his fault, stating that whatever he did was not the right way to handle his frustration. Being an inspiration to many, including kids, he acknowledged that he cannot act in the manner he did on Sunday.

Furthermore, Mahomes apologized to Allen, emphasizing that there was no fault on Allen’s part, as he wasn’t involved in any of the incidents. Finally, the 2x Super Bowl champ concluded by emphasizing the importance of learning from his mistakes, stating, “It’s part of playing the game. Just learnt from it; it’s part of being a person. Learn from your mistakes and try to be better the next time.”

Meanwhile, it’s also important to note that besides the flag incident, Mahomes is not accustomed to losing, and that likely contributed to his strong reaction to people at Arrowhead. What’s more he was rude to QB Allen even though he had no part to play in the call.

After the Bills defeated KC 20-17, Patrick Mahomes didn’t offer congratulations to Bills’ QB Josh Allen. Instead, during their embrace, including post-game handshakes and hugs, Mahomes used the moment to vent about the officiating, particularly the offensive offsides penalty that nullified the crucial touchdown.

Mahomes expressed his frustration, calling it “Wildest f**king call I’ve ever seen. Offensive offsides… f**king terrible,” while Allen looked at him, patted him on his chest before moving away to join his team.

As of now, Allen hasn’t said anything about Patrick Mahomes, but the Chiefs QB surely has a lot to say to him, including the apology.
