The Steelers might have lost against the Eagles on Sunday, but football won. Oh, no, there’s no Mike Tomlin’s uncontrollable lashing hinted here. But we are talking about a class moment that’s spreading on the internet. Jalen Hurts giving Russell Wilson his flowers: “I watched you my childhood. You paved the way.” That’s what you call – respect and Russ did not let it go unnoticed.

You don’t always catch moments like this when the heat is on, but this one stood out. Despite taking an L to the chin, Wilson showed why he is the future HOFer as he re-shared the moment on his IG story and captioned: “Respect, young king. @jalenhurts”

It was like the seasoned vet was passing the torch to the next in the line. And those exchanges of words? Yeah, see them as a reflection of how it unfolded on the gridiron as well. You see, Russ did not have it his way—128 passing yards and a lone touchdown, yikes! That’s both rough… and tough! On the flip side, Hurts answered all the doubters with a statement game: 290 passing yards, two touchdowns, and a calm, collected swagger that screamed, This is my offense!

Moreover, Philly’s 27-13 win over Pittsburgh wasn’t just a game; it was a reminder that the Birds are on a mission. And the mission is looking a lot like their Super Bowl year. With their 10th straight win, the Eagles soared to a 12-1 record, proving that last year’s collapse is ancient history.

Hurts is leading a squad that’s dialed in, making it hard not to think of the 14-3 Eagles that went all the way to their fourth Super Bowl appearance. Hmm… Maybe, just maybe. THIS COULD BE IT.

But back in Steel City. Mike Tomlin wasn’t impressed. However, it wasn’t just the loss; it was the second-half collapse. No points after halftime? That’s not the Pittsburgh way. Tomlin, ever the straight shooter, had a bone to pick with the refs, hinting that something didn’t sit right.

Does Jalen Hurts' admiration for Russell Wilson signal a passing of the torch in the NFL?

Mike Tomlin was not having refs way as Russell Wilson made a bland admission

The Steelers vs. Eagles clash on Sunday? Oh, it was the story of twos. Two halves. Two QBs on opposite spectrum. And finally, two different post-game POVs. First-quarter fireworks set the tone when Steelers tight end Darnell Washington’s over-committed block on Eagles safety Darius Slay led to a good ol’ fashioned fracas. “A hockey moment,” Slay called it, and honestly, he wasn’t wrong. But the refs? They saw red—well, yellow—throwing flags only on the Steelers. Cue Mike Tomlin’s iconic sideline disbelief.

FOX cameras didn’t miss a beat. Tomlin was caught giving the down judge a piece of his mind in language colorful enough to rival a Van Gogh. His post-game presser? Peak Tomlin. “Not a sufficient one,” he said when asked about the refs’ explanation. Can you blame him? Two offensive penalties pushed the Steelers back 15 yards, turning what could’ve been a momentum-shifting touchdown into a measly field goal. As Steelers WR Calvin Austin III joked, maybe his massive 5’9”, 162-pound frame made him an easy target for the flag.

And then there’s Russell Wilson. Postgame, he stood at the podium, still in full gear, and didn’t sugarcoat the Steelers’ performance. “They played way better than us tonight,” he admitted. Wilson, who threw for just 128 yards and a single TD, couldn’t find his rhythm, and the Steelers’ offense stalled in the second half.

For the first time since 2009, Pittsburgh had only two drives after halftime. Two! Not exactly a winning formula, especially against a team like the Eagles. With the Ravens and Chiefs looming on the schedule, Wilson knows it’s crunch time. “There’s a lot more football left… any great team has to respond,” he said. Is there anything else left to say? We don’t think so. Pitts has done well. They just need to keep doing it without overcooking!
