Russell Wilson’s journey this season has been spectacular. He missed time due to an injury, and there were discussions about young QB Justin Fields potentially taking his position. However, Wilson turned things around with his skills. On Thursday, when the list of players selected for the Pro Bowl was announced, Russ’s name was missing. Yet, he appears to have a different mindset about it.
Pittsburgh Steelers’s QB expressed himself on the Pro Bowl snub via IG story. Displaying a positive outlook he first congratulated his teammates who have made the list: Chris Boswell, Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive tackle Cam Heyward, and OLB TJ Watt.
Following this, he posted an IG story about where the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant with a three-word message, “Stay the course.” In the video clip shared, Kobe was delivering a message, “It’s all about focus. I don’t care who you are and where are you from… doesn’t matter. It’s having a focus and having a purpose. You wake up every single day to get better than you were yesterday. It doesn’t matter what you are… Basketball player, hockey player, golf player. It doesn’t matter.” Kobe died in a plane crash on 26th Jan 2020, but his thoughts are immortal.

This clip reflects Russell Wilson‘s positive mindset. With this, the Steelers QB also sent a powerful message to the locker room for the final week 18 game and the playoffs. The message is clear, it’s all about the same thing- being great at your craft. They have already booked playoff berth and have only one game left. And if you are thinking Mike Tomlin and the squad will play that game just for the sake of playing; you are wrong. When asked about the next game against the Bengals, Russell said, “[In past games] We didn’t blink, and we can’t blink now.” I think the best thing we can do is, you know, focused practices, detailed meetings, and everything else.”
He’s all set to crush the opponent. But meanwhile, the Steelers coach delivered a brutal and very strong message to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Steelers’ strong message to Andy Reid’s Chiefs
The Steelers had a good and clean game on Christmas Day against the Chiefs. Though the game culminated in the Chiefs’ victory, the rivalry is still burning. When the Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith was asked by the reporters about the Chiefs vs Steelers game, he reacted, “You go book and debrief, or call it an after-action report, and talk about the lesson learned. Hopefully we are playing those guys again at some point.”

Fans reacted to it by trolling Arthur Smith for not out-coaching the Chiefs in the first go and what gonna they do if another matchup happened. Well, Arthur Smith’s team may get a good chance to go head-to-head with Patrick Mahomes and the squad as Russell Wilson seems ready. He didn’t stop there. Further Arthur said, “Obviously, they may have a new wrinkle here or there, but those are lessons learned… Just like in the Cincy game, they changed some of their stuff in the second half, so you don’t make the same mistake twice.”
When the media approached Russell Wilson for a bite on the Steelers’ strategy, he replied, “I think we just gotta get focused on the fundamentals of the game and still play clean football… So, [we] still be aggressive in our mentality and approach.”
