The Denver Broncos have set the football world on fire by cutting QB Russell Wilson from the roster. Merely two years after the blockbuster trade, Wilson has been discarded. Now the former Cleveland Browns QB suggests Wilson’s mannerisms could be the reason for him being dropped.
With head coach Sean Payton joining the ranks of the Broncos last season, many expected the Super Bowl winner Wilson to thrive. However, their relationship quickly soured. And former Pro Bowler Derek Anderson suggests Wilson’s unnatural antics could be at play!

The 40-year-old Anderson was on ‘The Coach JB Show with Big Smitty’ when he was enquired about Wilson. The hosts suspected that Wilson’s always optimistic behavior could be a show and wanted to know the QB’s opinion. And Anderson did not hold back!

“He plays the game a little bit, right. He plays into… he knows when the cameras are on, he’s been trained”, said Anderson. With the hosts of the podcast agreeing to this suggestion, Anderson went further. “I think he was doing the right things, he just wasn’t touching people the right way”, said Anderson.
Then the former Browns’ QB targeted the 9X Pro Bowler with a recent example. “my thumb’s broken and I’m out there yelling plays and acting like an a**hole… like, I can still go through my workout. I don’t need the attention”, said Anderson, talking about Wilson’s antics against the Los Angeles Rams. However, Wilson has been garnering a lot of support from his teammates.
Wilson still has his followers
Ever since Wilson announced on X (previously Twitter) that he was being let go by the Broncos. His teammates have taken to social media to question the logic in this decision by the management. But they wish him well in his future endeavors.
