The Pittsburgh Steelers are all set to play against the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round. No need to tell, it’s an important game for both teams, but especially for Russell Wilson. Winning this one would help him establish his image as still a difference-maker in the league. Why? Well, it’s because if the Steel City gets this one, it will be their first playoff victory in eight years. Now that sounds amazing! But ahead of the playoff round, Steelers’ offensive coordinator Arthur Smith has a message for Wilson and the team.

A day ago, Arthur Smith exclaimed, “We aren’t going to leave any stone left unturned. You are in a single-elimination tournament. I use the analogy burn the boats because you have to survive and advance. We will use everything at our disposal. That’s the appropriate thing to do.” After this, the same question was asked to Russell Wilson during Wednesday’s press conference.

To which, Russell Wilson responded, “I think (what) Arthur (said) obviously….that means is just we want to be able to play our best, we want to know whatever plays that we feel like are great ones, runs and passes whatever those are (we) make sure that we get to them and I think that also too means just our preparation thing, the week, I think how how all of our guys have been preparing.” Essentially, Wilson highlighted the importance of using the plays, and the team’s preparation for the next round.

Along with this, Russell Wilson even emphasized how the team has been preparing throughout the week, mentioning specific players like Zach Frazier and Mason Rudolph. He also noted that the entire offensive line has been dedicated to preparation. He further mentioned the effort put into their protection, run, and pass meetings, as well as the strong communication among the receivers.

As a QB, he praised the team’s effort during practice, saying everyone was doing their best to be ready. He also spoke about the enthusiasm and love for the game, recognizing the great opportunity they have against the Ravens. This statement from Russell Wilson came after he addressed the upcoming thriller on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Revealing about the Steelers’s preps, Russell Wilson added, “I think that we’re going to have to play our best and do our thing and have great confidence. I think there’s a lot of things they (Ravens) do extremely, extremely well. They got a lot of great players especially on the defensive side. They do a lot of good things, mix up their coverages. They know how to make plays and all that so I think the best thing we can do is use the things that we’ve done really, really well.” In addition, he tried to follow Kevin O’Connell’s approach of playing great, one at a time in the playoffs. And for this, he and his team will try 70-plus plays in the game.

So, after this much confidence and preparation, it remains to be seen what Russell Wilson and his team are going to do in their wild-card game. The hype is there!
