Russell Wilson and Ciara don’t just lend their names to causes! They make sure to show up, lead, and put in the necessary work with the utmost dedication. When it comes to fighting cancer, they’re not on the sidelines. In 2024, with 2 million Americans facing a cancer diagnosis, they stepped up in their own way. Through their Why Not You Foundation (WNYF) and deep ties to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, Wilson and Ciara are all set to make the right impact.

And, it was evident from @thevfoundation’s recent post, shared on the Instagram account. It mentions in the post caption, “Our board members @ciara and @dangerusswilson are bringing the impact at the V Foundation for Cancer Research Sonoma Epicurean!”

With Russell and Ciara hosting the event on-stage, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Ciara makes a strong appeal in her own style. She sings, “If you came to have a good time tonight, say, oh yeah. If you came to sip on some wine tonight, say, oh yeah.” And the ultimate refrain to mobilize people comes right through, as she continues, “And if you came to put up a fight tonight, say, oh yeah. And if you came to save some lives tonight, say, oh yeah.”

Ciara wasn’t just attending, she was leading the charge. Taking the mic, she energized the crowd, and Russell shared the same in his IG story, tagging both the foundations. He also highlighted the purpose of the event, writing, “Raising Money for Cancer! Victory over Cancer!” It is because cancer isn’t slowing down. The SEER Program’s 2024 data presents critical data that Americans need to reflect upon. It reports 2 million new cancer cases in 2024 with 611,720 projected deaths. According to the study, breast cancer is leading all diagnoses, whereas prostate cancer is the biggest threat to men. On the other hand, lung cancer is the deadliest of them all.

Wilson and Ciara understand that these aren’t just statistics. Behind each number is a family, a story, a fight. As board members of the V Foundation, they’re using their platform to channelize major funding for pediatric cancer research. Wilson’s father has ingrained the mindset in him: “Why not you?” Launching WNYF in 2014, the Wilson couple is breaking barriers in education, healthcare, and opportunities for kids.

And now, with the Sonoma Epicurean event, they seek to bring about action, hope, and real change. Like the couple suggested, “We have the chance to change the world. Let’s do it together.”

Wilson and Ciara have also made numerous visits to hospitals, funding research, and partnering with groups like Boys & Girls Clubs and Friends of the Children, ensuring kids battling cancer get the needed resources and care. And, Wilson is making waves in the fight against cancer, amidst officially announcing his new deal with the New York Giants.

Russell Wilson and Ciara celebrate the NY Giants’ move

Russell Wilson is officially a part of the New York Giants. The veteran QB has received a fresh start, with a $10.5 million guaranteed deal (with incentives that will push it to $21M). And, now, he is wasting no time to get acquainted with the new city. After a wavy season in Steelers, he has the needed stability with the Giants. Wilson made it official on X, as he posted, “Honored to be a Giant” 💙 @Giants.” While the Giants had pushed for Aaron Rodgers, they instead proceeded with Wilson as their potential QB1.

Walking into the Giants’ facility, she met with head coach Brian Daboll, and even posted an update for her fans, writing, “Beyond excited! Go Big Blue!” What was the first stop after signing? Of course, Madison Square Garden. They also hit the Knicks-Clippers game in style, sitting courtside along with top names like Spike Lee, Ed Sheeran, and more. Wilson had a solid season in Pittsburgh, with 11 games, a playoff appearance, 2,482 yards, 16 TDs, and 5 INTs. But now, as a Giant, he is ready to make the new move and hit new records.
