“Wassup Wassup!” Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara Wilson, dropped this new song in September last year. With it, she celebrated life, inspiring her fans to do the same. So now, when the real trauma comes in California, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s wife is ready to save the lives along with her family, that too on a very special day!
Former American minister and activist, Martin Luther King Jr., was celebrated on his birth anniversary on January 15. But Ciara and Russell Wilson honored the day with a special gesture, following in King Jr.’s footsteps. So, what did they do?
Ciara Wilson shared a reel on her official Instagram account tagging her husband, Russell Wilson. In this new update, the singer could be seen donating goodies with the quarterback as well as her children, Future and Sienna. The video featured the Wilson family taking charge of the LA wildfire relief fund, partnering with the Baby2Baby foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to help communities in crisis.

Sharing the same, Ciara Wilson wrote a caption: “Our hearts are full seeing our kids prepare kits for babies & families from the wild fires in LA on MLK Day. MLK once said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” We are forever grateful for @Baby2Baby during these difficult times of tremendous loss, devastation, & pain. Every prayer, helping hand, and resource can make a positive impact. We are praying for everyone that has suffered during this time. We are in this together (heart emoji).”
Los Angeles is in crisis. Wildfires are tearing through the country, forcing families to flee and leaving a trail of destruction. Nearly, $275 billion loss has been reported till now. Hence, during this heartbreak, Ciara earlier joined this organization, urging people to donate to support the victims. As Ciara and Russell Wilson are helping the needy in their tough times, it remains to be seen who will help the Steelers’ quarterback amidst exiting rumors.
Will the Steelers get away from Russell Wilson?
For the 2024 season, Russell Wilson signed a one-year deal with the Steelers. But the franchise also signed Justin Herbert as their quarterback no. 2. However, coach Mike Tomlin earlier admitted that Wilson will be stepping up first on the field. But as the 36-year-old got injured in the offseason, Tomlin had to bring Fields in the meantime. Later as the days passed, Mr. Unlimited replaced Fields after he was removed from the injured reserve and led his team to the playoffs. However, now as his contract is going to end this offseason, will Russell Wilson become a free agent or re-sign with the team?
We all know that both the quarterbacks mostly supported their team whenever it was needed in the regular season. During this, they gave each other an equal competition. But the reality is, as per Post-Gazette insider Gerry Dulac, “Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are free agents, and it is highly unlikely both will be re-signed.” So, according to him, the writing seems to be on the wall for Wilson. Why?

Well, after signing a one-year, veteran minimum contract with hopes of something longer, things didn’t pan out as expected. The season ended with five tough losses, and there’s talk of a disconnect with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
Even Russell Wilson was brought in to help the team finally make a deep playoff run, but that didn’t happen either. Hence, Dulac hints that bringing in another veteran doesn’t make sense. Instead, the spotlight is likely shifting to Justin Fields. At just 25, Fields has shown impressive growth, especially during his time in Chicago. He finished off the season with 161 attempts for 1106 yards and 5 touchdowns in 10 games.
On the other hand, Wilson, in 11 games, passed for 336 attempts for 2482 yards and 16 touchdowns. Although it seems Wilson has outperformed Fields, the age of the veteran QB and the playoff loss might impact his future status with the team. It seems like the Steelers are ready to hand Fields the reins and see what he can do. Until then, all are unofficial till now!
