Bill Belichick has given his 24 years of NFL career to Robert Kraft’s team after his one-day resignation with the New York Jets. However, this season, the team has been underperforming, with only two victories against the Jets and Buffalo Bills until Week 9. Hence, reports suggest that Belichick’s position with the team is under heavy scrutiny. According to an NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, the Patriots could move on from the 71-year-old head coach if he loses in Germany once again to the Colts.

The insider tweeted the report, which reads, “If Belichick comes home from Germany with a 2-8 record, I think there’s a chance the Krafts could make the move in the bye week.” Furthermore, in place of Belichick, Kraft could plant “Jerod Mayo as the interim coach for the final seven games.” Belichick has coached the Patriots for 24 years, and their 2-7 record matches his first season as coach in Foxborough in 2000.

Can Josh McDaniels replace Bill Belichick?
A rumor suggests that ex-coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, Josh McDaniels, could be the next for the Patriots after Bill Belichick. McDaniels was recently fired by Mark Davis in less than two years, despite his four-year contract. Hence, as the 47-year-old is free, the Patriots could look to bring him to New England. Apart from him, there are multiple sources that point toward the Tennessee Titans’ coach, Mike Vrabel. Two sources close to the Patriots believe Mike Vrabel “is the Krafts’ ‘home run’ choice to succeed Belichick.”

Belichick has been coaching the Patriots for about 24 years. He is widely regarded as one of the best coaches and has the potential to bring some of the best talents to the roster. However, if we talk about versatility, Vrabel played with New England for seven years as both an inside and outside linebacker, a tight end, and a special team.
The Patriots Hall of Fame inductee could bring his skills to Robert Kraft’s team, as he knows inside and outside of the squad. And if the Patriots move with McDaniels, he could come in and get QB Mac Jones right, helping him in his decision-making process.
