The New England Patriots united again, but under different circumstances and certainly not to play football. This time they are not throwing a football around, but rather trading jokes at the expense of each other. We saw Bill Belichick, Julian Edelman, and Rob Gronkowski take shots at Tom Brady. But we didn’t expect Robert Kraft to chime in for the big show.
However, before Robert Kraft could address Brady, he was haunted by the presence of Bill Belichick and Julian Edelman and decided to address them first. Jokingly, Kraft motioned that he doesn’t want Bill Belichick around and certainly won’t be looking forward to seeing Julian Edelman at his last moment.
The Patriots owner was quickly reminded of an unwanted family gathering where he was looking to get away from certain people. One of them was Bill Belichick, “And like many family reunions, there are some people I’m desperately trying to avoid. Coach Belichick, good to see you. You really look debonair in sleeves,” said Kraft on The Roast of Tom Brady.

But Belichick wasn’t the only one in Kraft’s firing range because Julian Edelman had something else coming for him. “Tonight has really been funny, but Julian, let’s be honest and realistic, I’m not inviting you to my funeral.” While the Pats owner looked dead serious as he uttered those words, Edelman looked shocked and amused at same time as he laughed it up like the entire audience.
The dig Kraft took at Edelman might have come at the expense of Edelman’s time on stage after he made some lewd remarks towards Tom Brady. Perhaps, the Pats owner is trying to avoid an obscene eulogy at his funeral. As for Bill Belichick, since the release of The Dynasty, things haven’t been exactly smooth between Kraft and the former coach. Hence seeing him there might have been uncomfortable for the owner.
However, somethings Robert Kraft said about Tom Brady might be a light at the end of the tunnel for Tom Brady fans worldwide.
Robert Kraft provides a flipside to Tom Brady and his Raiders association
Tom Brady might become a stakeholder in the Las Vegas Raiders soon. But his ownership days are nigh, Kraft hinted that Brady might return to NFL soon since the Raiders are facing a quarterback problem.

“Tom, good luck buying the Raiders. They did your favorite thing for you already. They got rid of Jimmy Garoppolo,” said Kraft reminding us of the time when Tom Brady played so well that the New England Patriots had no option but to trade Jimmy Garoppolo in 2017. The Pats lost the Super Bowl that year but got the Lombardi home in the consecutive season.
In the brief time that Robert Kraft had the mic, he revealed a lot about the Patriots’ past, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Perhaps this is the last time that we will see these Patriots under the same roof laughing at each other’s expenses.
