In a move that shocked the entire football community, the Tennessee Titans decided to fire their longtime head coach, Mike Vrabel. The 48-year-old HC had been at the helm of the Titans since 2018 and brought several successful seasons to the Titans’ basket. But on the back of this lackluster season, he has been shown the door. But this move has not gone down well with the former QB Robert Griffin III.

Though Griffin and Vrabel were never part of the same unit, Griffin turned analyst after his retirement in 2020. And his analysis is a scathing one for the Titans’ management. But with two years remaining on his contract, why was even Vrabel let go?

The Pro Bowler Griffin could not contain his dissatisfaction with the Titans’ management. And he did not take long to remind the fans and the players of the success of HC Vrabel. The 33-year-old Griffin poured his support for Vrabel on X (formerly Twitter).

He backed his disappointment with facts, stating the HC’s accomplishments. “6 seasons, 4 playoff appearances, AFC Championship game appearance, and Coach of the Year”, wrote Griffin.

However, Vrabel’s magic did not turn up this season. With a record of 6-11, the Titans were the bottom team in the AFC South. But the more perplexing part is why was he not traded but let go.

In a hurry for Vrabel

Earlier it was reported that this was the last season in Vrabel’s contract with the Titans. But that did not turn out to be true. His contract runs till the end of the 2025 season. The Titans would’ve benefited from trading in the HC, but they did not want to waste time.
