The Lively v. Wayfarer Studios trial has caused long-time best friends Taylor Swift and Blake Lively to have bad blood between them. Lively’s absence from Chiefs games this year, especially the Super Bowl, further fueled the rumors. Allegedly, everything has not been going well between Blake and Taylor following the Gossip Girl actress’ lawsuit, which dragged the New Romantics singer into the controversy. Ever since the legal drama, Swift has reportedly tried to distance herself from Blake and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

It looks like beau Travis Kelce is also walking the same path as his lover, as his recent social media steps sparked speculations. On Sunday, a few Reddit users brought to attention that the Chiefs TE had unfollowed Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds on his Instagram. The media quickly tried to reach out to Kelce’s reps but could not get any response. Page Six claims that Kelce’s move might be due to distancing himself and Swift from Blake Lively’s ongoing legal troubles with Justin Baldoni.

TMZ’s Harvey and Charles, calling Kelce’s action “petty” and “high school stuff,” said, “There is a rift there, for sure… He has unfollowed Ryan Reynolds. This is a really big deal in Hollywood, you guys. Because everybody looks to see who every single celebrity is following. Especially Travis Kelce. Someone who’s in the public eye.” Ryan still follows Travis on IG, though.

In December last year, Blake Lively filed a lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, accusing him of unwelcome physical contact and creating a hostile work environment during the filming of their movie It Ends With Us. In response, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Blake, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane. The Five Feet Apart actor accused Lively of defamation, civil extortion, and invasion of privacy. In his lawsuit, Baldoni also claimed that Blake pressured him to make script changes by leveraging the influence of Swift and Reynolds.

Before Lively and Baldoni’s legal trouble, the two couples were close to each other. Kelce and Swift, and Blake and Ryan were often spotted hanging out together. Swift even invited the Gossip Girl actress to the Super Bowl last year. But this time around, Lively’s absence from Taylor’s group was hard to miss. 

Well, it looks like the Blank Space songstress is still upset with her friend for getting dragged into the controversy. And now, she and Travis Kelce seem to be keeping their distance from their once-close friends. So, while the Kelce and Reynolds drama unfolds, Swift’s absence from beau Kelce’s Vegas trip has raised some eyebrows.

Swift skips Travis Kelce’s big weekend in Sin City

The Chiefs’ TE chose to spend his recent weekend in Vegas. Kelce attended the 2025 8 AM Golf Invitational with his brother Jason Kelce. Singer and actor Justin Timberlake also accompanied the Kelce brothers. But Taylor and Travis’ shippers got worried when the pop star was notably absent from the Vegas outing.

Well, to all the fans, there’s nothing to be concerned about. According to a source close to the couple, the New Romantics songstress is just taking some time off for herself after her Eras Tour concluded in December. Swift didn’t have much downtime. After the tour, she was busy cheering for her boyfriend from the stands. Now, in the offseason, Taylor’s enjoying some leisure time.

Reports also suggest that the couple has been avoiding public appearances because of all the negativity on the internet. During the Super Bowl in New Orleans, when the camera showed Swift, a large crowd booed the pop star. President Donald Trump, who was also in attendance, received loud cheers from the crowd. On Monday, the president mentioned Swift, saying, “I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out?” during the Eagles‘ visit to the White House.

All things considered, everything seems to be going pretty well between Kelce and Swift. The two have just been enjoying some off-time, away from the spotlight.
