What’s Patrick Mahomes’ third love out of his football and family life? It’s golf. Sorry if you were expecting something else. But yes, you might have seen him try his hand at professional golf, at his charity events and a lot of other places. The man owns a golfing line with Adidas for God’s sake. That’s his favorite pastime when his family is not around, that’s for sure.
The 3x Super Bowl winner took some time off his busy schedule and appeared on the Riggle’s Picks podcast. From family to Brady roast, to Mike Tyson fight, to Super Bowl championship, the hosts of the show did a great job with interviewing the champ. Then they asked him about golf and a strange confession about Travis Kelce came out.
The Kansas City Chiefs QB is so good at golf that he tried to make it to the professional league. He participated at Augusta and did very well on the first day, but he went bust on the day he tried playing professionally. Maybe next time Patrick. If that wasn’t enough, he lost at his own charity match for 15 and the Mahomies. Guess who he lost to? His boy Travis Kelce. But he couldn’t believe it! Did Travis Kelce cheat? Mahomes thinks the TE did.

“I played good at the 15 and the Mahomies classic too. I believe Travis cheated; I just want to put that on record. When they said Travis Kelce won, I said there’s no way possible, but I’ll let them have the trophy, I’ll let him have it,” said the 3x Super Bowl winner.
A lot happened during that event. The event in Las Vegas also saw Taylor Swift attending the Gala where she auctioned off a couple of tickets for $80,000 and all that went to Mahomes’ charity. Travis Kelce even called Taylor his “significant other” during the Gala. But Mahomes, Kelce and some other friend played golf that day too.
Still don’t believe that golf is up there on Mahomes’ list of priorities? This further revelation would make you think about how far-gone Patrick Mahomes is when it comes to driving the caddy and shooting some golf balls on the course.

It’s like an obsession at this point. He wasn’t staying with his family, and they were in Dallas at the time of the OTAs. Who’d want to come back home just to get bored? That’s the same idea he had when the training camp was over. It’s his way of blowing off some steam and for him, it works.

“How is the golf game coming?” said the host of Riggle’s Picks and that’s all Mahomes needed to show his passion for the sport. “Golf game is really really good right now. The first three weeks of OTAs my family stayed home in Dallas, so I was here by myself, and I’d fly home on the weekends. That means four days of a week just golf all day long after practice.”
This man would probably not get tired of golf. Remember the time he participated in The Match VI? He paired up with Josh Allen, who is perhaps his biggest enemy on the football field, and went against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. It was a pretty interesting pairing, great for publicity too.

“Golf game is really good, just got back from Augusta last weekend,” Mahomes said on The Pat McAfee Show. “Played really well out there. Played great from the member tees and then tried to play from the pro tees, did not go as well.” Those are the exact same words Mahomes said on Riggle’s Picks. Good to know that he’s consistent.
