NFL is a double-edged sword. While the sport often brings a thrill of victory, it also carries the agony of defeat! While win and loss are a part of the game, injuries occur as an uninvited irritating guest. One such player who is always walking on thin ice is Tua Tagovailoa.

While rushing for the first down in the third quarter, the Pro Bowl receiver collided with the Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin. This made things tough for the quarterback, causing him to suffer a head injury. It was a tough hit; viewers could tell something wasn’t right when his arm extended involuntarily. Despite that, Tagovailoa managed to walk off the gridiron with a smile. But it was clear he was a bit of an accident waiting to happen at that moment. The team later confirmed what many feared — he was ruled out with a concussion.

While the quarterback is already under hot waters, Tua’s long list of injuries has left everyone asking him to retire! When Antonio Pierce was asked about the Dolphins player’s another concussion, he couldn’t help but advise the QB to take care of his family. The Raiders HC said, “I’ll be honest, I’ll tell him to retire. It’s not worth it.” He further continued, “He’s going to live longer than he’s going to play football. Take care of your family.” He mentioned how the concussion was scary and he could see it on Tagovailoa’s face. As per the coach, it’s just not worth it! However, seems like Pierce ignored McDaniel’s advice!

With his third concussion in just three years, everyone is raising some serious questions about both his immediate future and the longevity of his NFL career. But Dolphins HC feels it’s not the right time to question the NFL passer rating leader.

Mike McDaniel urged everyone to give Tua Tagovailoa some space

The NFL passing yards leader has already been snake-bit with injuries. And unfortunately, once again, he is forced to watch games from the sidelines. He’s dealt with multiple concussions, rib and finger fractures, and even a dislocated hip back in his college days at Alabama.

Soon after Tua Tagovailoa’s head injury, Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel requested both fans and the media to let the player focus on his health. As per the HC, instead of speculating about the QB’s future, the Maxwell Award winner’s well-being should be the top priority.

McDaniel spoke to the media on Friday, saying, “So, I’m going to plead with everybody that does genuinely care that that (career) should be the last thing on your mind.” The coach just hopes that people hear him and stop bringing his career in between!

The team’s 11th HC emphasized on how only a player should make a decision about their career. And most importantly, the QB’s recovery is his only concern. Even after Mike’s plea, Tony Gonzalez, one of the greatest tight ends, also shared his opinion on the situation. He said, “If I’m him, at this point, I’m seriously considering retiring from football.”

While injuries are a part of the game, Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion is a big concern. The quarterback was at a crucial stage in his career, but unfortunately; the injury has probably put a pause on it. And as of now, his health moving forward remains a big question mark for both him and the Dolphins. However, Tua’s smile while walking to the locker room shows he is stronger than all the injuries. Staying hopeful about the situation, we pray for a speedy recovery for the QB.
