It’s all about the joke that reportedly didn’t fit well with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce. The singing sensation skipped the Kansas City Chiefs’ last regular game against the Los Angeles Chargers to attend the Golden Globes 2024 on January 7. However, what happened on the red carpet arguably might have compelled Swift to regret her decision to not attend the Chiefs’ game.
Kelce wasn’t in action as he was given a rest in the Week 18 game, and also didn’t attend Swift’s red carpet, at Golden Globes 2024. In his absence, the show’s host Jo Koy cracked a joke on Swift and her NFL appearances, and now reports suggest that the tight end might defend Swift on his show. Here’s the whole story!

Taylor Swift attended the Golden Globes award event on January 7, donning a glittering green color dress, where her movie ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ was nominated. The event also nominated blockbuster films of last year like Barbie and Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse. Although Swift wasn’t accompanied by her boyfriend Travis Kelce due to his upcoming wildcard games, she seemed happy attending the event with her friend Keleigh Sperry. However, according to the reports, the evening took an unpleasant turn for her when comedian and show host Jo Koy targeted Swift with a joke about her new romance with Kelce.
Koy mentioned a difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL, jokingly saying, “We have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift,” hinting the amount of exposure the NFL has given Swift at the Chiefs’ games. The camera then showed Swift looking unimpressed and angry, sipping a glass of her drink. This joke sparked reactions on social media, with many speculating whether Kelce would take up this incident on his show, “The New Heights” with his brother, which is set to air on Wednesday.
Although it’s unclear whether the comments on his girlfriend offended Kelce or not, many fans think he’ll speak up as he has taken stand for Swift whenever needed. This time again, he will defend her.
