The NFL has finally decided to take action in the best interests of its stars. Over the last couple of days and weeks, the league has faced severe criticism for not protecting the players to the best possible extent. After Mark Andrews’ serious and season-ending injury, the conversation to ban one of the dreaded tackles spawned yet again.

NFL had considered banning the hip-drop tackle last season, but it couldn?t reach a fruitful conclusion. But the incidents that have been a direct impact of such tackles have resulted in more than 1 injury, with Trent Williams being another name to have faced time off from it.
The reports revealed that at least 1 Hip drop tackle takes place each and every game. Following this, the latest directive of the league expectedly banning the action will hope to end such egregious tackles and reduce any serious concerns that it could have brought forward.
In the case of Mark Andrews, he suffered an injury in the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was when Lamar Jackson threw the pass to Mark Andrews that the TE ran with the ball but was tackled from behind by Logan Wilson. He tackled Andrews in a very brash manner making the football player visibly shake. He couldn?t even get up, and at the time, was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Now, the Ravens? TE has suffered a season-ending injury at a very crucial point of the year and the people are not happy about it. This is where the extreme nature of the tackle was identified further by the league, hence the expected decision to ban it coming forth. Some NFL executives are trying their best to get the rule fully eliminated from the game for the best.

Will the NFL completely ban this move?
The NFL executives shared their concerns with the management, pointing out how the move is debilitating all the teams. As the injury chances increase by 25% in case of such harsh tackles, the owners of the team seem to favor the idea of banning the action from the league completely.

If that?s the case, why would the NFL not think twice about keeping the rule alive? Tom Brady said that the NFL has become mediocre and has gone soft, and it had to do with protecting oneself from injuries and over-compensated plays that protect the QBs. But these injuries neither are soft, nor mediocre, the injury just ended a man?s season.
