Graham discussed 5 details the news outlet had regarding the whole saga. Firstly, he made it clear that Harbaugh’s top preference was to still lead the Wolverines, who under his guidance have turned out to be the ‘Monsters of the North’. The team is completely unstoppable in the season, leading the Big Ten East 13-0 and the landslide favorites to win the NCAA title.

Secondly, Harbaugh only has time till December 25 to sign a contract extension. His current one runs out on Christmas day, and following that he will not be interested anymore to travel with the team for international games. Thirdly, Graham highlighted that Harbaugh’s close sources are pushing the Bears management for a contract at the earliest, per their own sources.

Fourthly, one reason suggests Harbaugh still remembers his route. An alumnus of the Wolverines and an ex-Bears, the robust HC dreams of serving both sides for once in his life. And he still feels the love at Chicago he had during his playing time. And finally, he cherishes the idea of building the side from scratch and relieving them from their decade-long struggles, just like what he did at Michigan.

Jim Harbaugh: Adored by the Bears

The Big Ten MVP of 1986, Harbaugh was a 1987 NFL draft of the Bears. He remained with the franchise till 1993, without seeing much success. His best season was the 1991, where he set the franchise record for pass completion, and nearly replicated that with total yards thrown. But during the short period, the QB’s leadership and likeability made him a fan favorite, which both parties adore to this day.

Then-head coach Dave Wannstedt traded Harbaugh to the Colts in 1993, to bring in a QB with a stronger arm and superior game sense. He would go on to win the Super Bowl with the new side in the 1995 campaign. Harbaugh made his first Pro Bowl and led the NFL in passer rating that year. But despite the success later, Harbaugh forever remembered the beginning of his NFL journey with the Bears.
