With the loss against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC divisional round, the Green Bay Packers’ season ended and now it looks like there are some changes in order for next season.
Despite losing their star QB Aaron Rodgers, the Packers still managed a somewhat successful season. However, Mark Murphy the CEO and President of the Packers doesn’t seem pleased.
Joe Barry no longer part of the Packers

The 53-year-old Joe Barry joined the Packers in 2021 as the defensive coordinator but after the lackluster performance of the squad in earlier seasons. And being a leaky defense once again this season, Barry has been shown the door.

However, the former Super Bowl-winning coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should not have much trouble in finding new suitors.Since, Barry has previously worked with some of the biggest teams in the league.

But it won’t be like before, where he is used to climbing up the ladder of coaching. After his Packers stint, the chances of him getting employed once again as the defensive coordinator for a top team are slim to none. But why is this?
An era of mediocrity

The Packers after the NFL 2023 Draft were in place to have a dominant defensive season this year. Since they had eight first-round picks of defensive players on their roster this year.
However, under Barry’s supervision, the Packers were 17 th in defense this year. And his three seasons combined, leave the Packers 14 th in defence on average. And as their season hung on balance against the 49ers, the Packers defence failed them once again. Giving up a lead of 7 points and eventually losing 21-24.
