Things are changing rapidly at the Denver Broncos office. And Russell Wilson is going through it all over again. The Broncos’ QB is well and truly the comeback GOAT and everyone already knows that by now. But a few expected him to run riot this way at the later stages of the season and his career.

This is especially true with a Broncos side that looked like an unorganized NCAA team at the beginning of the season. But the tables have completely turned with a few weeks remaining, and the Broncos are among the favorites to clinch a postseason spot. It’s like rain from a clear sky.

Relief turned into jubilation for the Denver Broncos

When the Dolphins trounced the Broncos 70-20 in Week 3, it was the usual new season with the same Broncos situation. The Orange Crush has not seen the playoffs since 2015 when they won the Super Bowl. After seven seasons of postseason drought and a record-setting start to the season (for negative reasons), hopes were almost zero that a miracle would happen at Denver.

But bitter the downfall, sweeter the comeback. Led by Sean Payton and Russell ‘Mr. Comeback’ Wilson, the team returned to the drawing board and a master plan. Their first breakthrough came against the Chiefs when they limited the defending Super Bowl champions by a single-digit scoreline within three weeks of a loss at their hand.

And the ship has been sailing ever since. The Russ-Sean pair have swept every target in their path, and with every passing game, they only seem to get better. They are on a dominant five-game win streak now and 6-5 in the season despite starting 1-5. The Browns didn’t escape the comeback effect either, as the franchise, known for their physical gameplay and defensive prowess, incurred more damages on the injury list from the home side.

After losing QB Deshaun Watson to a fractured shoulder earlier, backup QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson also got a concussion during the Broncos game. Even arguably their biggest asset of the season, mid-season NFL Defensive Player of the Year awardee Myles Garrett, reportedly felt a shoulder pop and had to leave the game in a sling.

The Browns took the defeat in and out of the match, much like the four others did against the determined Broncos during the past few weeks. But while the Broncos nation is already dreaming of Super Bowl glory, will the Orange train ever get derailed?

Will the Denver Broncos pull off the craziest NFL turnaround ever?

Statistically, the 2011 Giants remain the worst side ever to win a Super Bowl. They were 9-7 through the regular season and, at times, faced uncertainty over the playoff spot. However, stars aligned for them, and they went all the way to clinch the Vince Lombardi Trophy before beating Tom Brady‘s Patriots in the biggest game. It was a miracle unlike ever before at the time. But the Broncos had actually made a worse start to the 2023 season.

The franchise was 1-5 after their first six games, and no Ring-winning side in the history of the NFL has ever made a start this bad in the same season. So it’s safe to say that the madness will exceed all records if the Broncos continue their impeccable run and eventually manage to resonate the Giants’ story with a worse start.

Russell Wilson lives for these moments, and that has been proven repeatedly. The 4th quarter story that revolves around the QB is proving to be true once again, as stats show he has already thrown his eighth last-quarter TD pass this year. That’s the most out of anyone in the NFL. Even a penultimate-quarter lead is never safe against Mr. Comeback, and rookie sensation CJ Stroud will need extra caution next Sunday when the Texans meet the Denver side.

If anyone could play at a Super Bowl under these circumstances, it’s Russell Wilson. And it wouldn’t be wild to brand him GOAT in this aspect over Brady, Rodgers, Manning, or Mahomes.
