It’s always a pleasure to watch a player ‘playing’ his position. Not just play it, but really ‘play’ it, like making adjustments and calling plays for the team. These were the exact words Aaron Rodgers had to say about Dak Prescott when Pat McAfee found out the new cadence of the Cowboys‘ QB and shared it with Rodgers.

Seemingly excited with Prescott’s style, McAfee kept repeating his cadence in a similar fashion. He also asked the Jets QB about the insight of a play call like this. To which Rodgers pointed out a few underlying facts for McAfee. The four-time NFL MVP also shared his love for the QB’s exceptional efforts behind the Cowboys’ success this season.

Prescott has been one of the most successful QBs of the season. The Cowboys are running for a playoff spot and possibly even beyond that, and the QB is firing on all cylinders to achieve that target. And his heroics haven’t gone unnoticed at all. Neither has his cadence.

Prescott shouts “LET’S GO…” every time a play begins. And Pat McAfee couldn’t stop mimicking that. He further asked Rodgers what the significance of the cadence was. In reply, Rodgers revealed that Prescott had become one of his favorites in the league: “First let’s talk about Dak, he’s become one my favorite quarterbacks to watch.”

“I just love that he’s really playing the position”, Rodgers said. He further added, “I’m watching him use his cadence beautifully, and get into this rhythmic ‘Here we go’ into like… Using as a dummy sometimes, do one or twice, into like other cadences”, the QB explained why Prescott uses the phrase. “But I love the way he’s playing. And I love the way he’s playing, like really playing… I love it, and I just wanna shoutout Dak for really impressing me”, the veteran disclosed, stating that he was impressed with the Cowboys QB.

Prescott has earned the praise of Rodgers for a reason. He is moving in the right direction to earn the franchise their first Super Bowl spot since 1996. But there’s a thorn in their side.

On paper, the Cowboys are as good as the Chiefs, with both teams being 8-3. And both have a common mountain to climb if they were to reach and win the Super Bowl, respectively. It’s the Philadelphia Eagles. Since their loss against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, the Eagles have been waiting for revenge. And it came deliciously when they handled the champions fairly easily on November 20.

The week before that, division rivals the Cowboys bit the dust in their 28-23 defeat to the Eagles. Prescott’s side has been mostly dominant in the season and is statistically the best second-placed team in the league with 8-3. The playoffs are already sealed, but to make it to the Super Bowl next year, they will have to go past the Eagles challenge, which could be harder to achieve than the Super Bowl against any of the AFC sides.

But then again, real recognizes real. Aaron Rodgers loves Prescott for a reason, and it would be further proven if he earned the Super Bowl ticket for the Cowboys over the Eagles, defying all odds.
