For more than 7 years, running back Aaron Jones has been a staple for the Green Bay Packers. The 29-year-old is a bona fide fan favorite. However, he was unceremoniously released from the roster earlier. But he won’t be going far as the RB is set to join the divisional rivals of the Packers!
With the signing of the 26-year-old Josh Jacobs at the RB position from the Las Vegas Raiders. The Packers chose to lighten their roster with the release of fan-friendly Jones. But the fans will see him often enough, though not in the colors of the Packers!

The free agency market is in full swing and the NFC North rivals of the Packers, the Minnesota Vikings, have gained from it. According to reports, they have picked up the services of Pro Bowler Jones. This signifies that Jones will be playing the Packers twice at least the next season, with one game in front of the Packers crowd at the Lambeau Field!

Jones has for several years thrived with the Packers. Though his age will be an issue, as he nears the 30 mark. He would love to perform on his hunting ground soon enough.
The position of running back is one of the most demanding ones in the entire game. And as the player gets older, with the drop in speed and athleticism, teams look for younger options. So how will the former Packers RB fit in with his new team?
Vikings will benefit from the inclusion of Jones
With the addition of Jones, the RB depth is phenomenal for the Vikings. Youngsters like the 25-year-old Ty Chandler and 24-year-old Cam Akers are currently the starting options for the Vikings. The franchise has a couple of other young RBs in their reserve squad as well.

Jones is bound to fulfill the role of an experienced mentor in the squad. His game time might be limited barring any injuries, but the veteran will be a worthwhile addition to the roster of the Vikings.
