How good has Lamar Jackson been this season? Anyone who watched him play at MetLife Stadium knows the answer. To put it simply, Jackson has been sensational. Playing away from Baltimore, the Ravens QB still heard ‘MVP’ chants from the crowd. However, it seems like some people still hate the soon-to-be crowned 3-time NFL MVP.
Jackson posted a message on his Instagram stories that read, “Neva changed BT hella hate.” Well, we can’t help but wonder who in their right mind will have the audacity to hate Jackson. It isn’t like he dropped a stinker against the league’s worst team. Instead, he showed what a true MVP-calibre player is capable of.
Even fans on social media have started the trend ‘MV3’ after his sensational display in New York. There was one other fan who was simply perplexed about how Jackson could ever stay out of MVP conversations, writing, “I really don’t know how Lamar Jackson slipped out of MVP front runner conversation at any point.” Was he, though? Well, it could be because his closest competitor is Bills QB Josh Allen. Similar to Jackson, Allen is out of this world this season.

After winning against the Lions in Detroit, Allen has 36 total TDs with only 5 interceptions. He has a game-shattering 3,395 passing yards to his name, alongside 484 yards on the ground. But here’s the catch: Lamar Jackson has an edge over Allen in head-to-head numbers. The Ravens QB has 3,580 passing yards to his name with 37 total TDs. Even his interceptions (3) are two lower than Allen’s. Well, Jackson also outplays the Bills QB in rushing yards.

With only three games of the season remaining, Jackson already has 743 rushing yards. A few more strong performances in the following weeks, and there you go. Lamar Jackson will be crowned the league’s MVP for a record 3rd time in almost 4 years. But before he collects his possible MVP title by the end of this regular season. Jackson has already entered the record books after his earth-shattering display against the Giants.
Lamar Jackson enters NFL record books with a powerful display in New York
It didn’t look like Lamar Jackson was playing away from Baltimore on Sunday. He made the gridiron his from almost the beginning to the end. And while doing that, he became the first QB to ever record 80% pass completions, 250 passing yards, 5 passing TDs, zero INTs, and last but not least 50 rushing yards. Well, could you imagine he threw more TDs than incompletions against the measly Giants? It’s difficult to imagine, right? But Lamar Jackson turned that imagination into reality on Sunday. This wasn’t the first time he threw 5 TDs in a game.

That was his fifth time doing that in the most sensational way possible. So the Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh, couldn’t help but praise his QB with some strong words, “He’s been locked in. He’s been locked in all season, he was locked in all week. He was on the guys—meetings, walkthroughs, everything, just keeping it about football and getting the football right.” As for Lamar, he was a little off with himself. During the Ravens’ second offensive play, he fumbled, which resulted in a turnover.
But that was the only minor hiccup in an otherwise outstanding display: “I felt I started off slow with that turnover. I was hot about that. Just had to lock in and play Raven football and that’s what we did.” Now, next up is the Steelers, who are vying for the AFC North title. And a similar performance, like week 15, could give them a real possibility of winning against their divisional rivals. Who knows, maybe Baltimore can leapfrog the Steelers and claim the AFC North title before the postseason.
