Mark Andrews could be counting his last days in Baltimore because of what happened on Sunday. Andrews, who had been a part of the Ravens’ offense since 2018, probably had one of his worst nights ever on the gridiron. His two-point conversion late into the fourth quarter could have changed the game for the Ravens. The score was 27-25 when Andrews couldn’t hold onto the football. And his doing so would have taken the Bills game to overtime. However, none of those happened, as the Ravens’ playoff exit may have sealed the fate of Andrews.
See, it isn’t like Andrews has been an okayish player that the Ravens can easily dispose of. Mark had just entered the Ravens’ record books as their all-time franchise TD leader. But none of those records really mattered when Andrews’ mistake threw Baltimore out of the playoffs. So, here’s the thing: The Ravens do have an escape route from their veteran TE. Choosing to trade or release Andrews before the 1st of July could bore more good news than bad for Baltimore.
Moving on from Andrews would help them save $11M from their cap space next season. Like after Marlon Humphrey’s $12M cap savings, Andrews is the next player on the list. And considering the finances, it wouldn’t really be a big surprise to see the Ravens trade or release Andrews. They could also opt for a restructuring of Andrews’ contract if they don’t really want to let go of their record holder.

Amid the talks of Andrews’ possible departure from the Purple Nation. His head coach, John Harbaugh, strongly declares his admiration for Mark: “There’s nobody that has more heart and cares more and fights more than Mark. We wouldn’t be here without Mark Andrews.” And that’s not sarcasm from Harbaugh. This season, Andrews had 11 TDs, his best ever-tally since he was chosen as a third-rounder 7 seasons ago.
Who knows? Maybe Harbaugh could keep his Mr. Reliable, who wasn’t so when it mattered the most. That result in Buffalo definitely got Lamar Jackson fuming after the game.

Lamar Jackson delivers a scathing rant after Baltimore’s frustrating playoffs exit
Two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson just couldn’t hold back his frustrations witnessing another season go into the dungeon. Like with Jackson, the Ravens had made the playoffs six out of seven times. But the problem is they haven’t progressed past the divisional round more than once. Well, the only time they did was last season. Jackson’s Ravens ended up losing to the Chiefs 10-17, that too at home. This shows no matter how good you play, you also need that luck by your side. And that luck just wasn’t present in Buffalo for the Ravens.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Mark Andrews' time in Baltimore over after that costly mistake, or should the Ravens hold on?
Have an interesting take?
A team that had only turned the football over 11 times before Sunday. Ended up suffering three costly turnovers. The first one was a fumble from Jackson himself, which Von Miller recovered. His returning the football at the Ravens’ 24-yard line helped the Bills set up a TD that got the scores tied 7-7. Then, to everyone’s surprise, it was Jackson again. This time, it was an interception and the Ravens’ second turnover of the game.
Well, the final one came from none other than Mark Andrews. His drop after making a 16-yard catch stopped the Ravens from penetrating the Bills’ territory. From there, the Ravens never really managed to come back and ended another season wondering what if. So, Jackson, who also didn’t have a great night, went on a rant about those turnovers, “Just hold onto the f—— football. I’m sorry for my language. But this s— annoying. I’m tired of this s—.”

With that, another glorious season for Jackson and the Ravens came to an end. Just when it looked like they would break that Super Bowl drought, individual mistakes shattered their dream. This proves that no matter how good you are, one mistake can affect the whole team.
