After a series of setbacks, Rashee Rice is determined to bounce back and is focused on reparations. The Chiefs WR is now participating in practice alongside Patrick Mahomes and things couldn’t be much better. Or could they? The Super Bowl-winning WR is now doing community service after coming out of dark times.
Rice is out there in the hot weather distributing food to people who are in need. He took to Instagram and shared a video of the same. He saw hungry people and provided them with “some water and some pizza.” Rice’s video on IG of this earnest work isn’t captioned. However, it captures the raw emotions of giving back to the people.
With boxes of pizza and bottles of water in his hands, the WR reportedly went around Dallas to feed people. “It’s your boy double R. We’re out here with some water and some pizza in the summertime. Everybody’s got to eat, you know what I’m saying, its great weather,” said the WR as he proceeded to hand out the eateries to the people.

The video has DJ Khaled’s song “God Did,” playing in the background, which seems befitting of the situation. After the car crash, Rice faced a lot of backlash. It resulted in a number of allegations and troubles for the young professional. However, looking at his service, it appears that Rashee Rice is determined to get back on track, work for the community, and hold onto the torch of humanity.
An updated recap of the Rashee Rice accident!
Rashee Rice along with his SMU WR friend Teddy Knox took to the 6600 block of North Central Expressway and crashed the car after he “hit the center median wall, causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.” Rice faced 8 felony charges listed as 6 counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault.
Dallas police obtained the black boxes from the Lamborghini driven by Rice and the Corvette driven by Theodore Knox. It was reported that Rice’s car was hit by the Corvette, hit the median wall, and began a “counterclockwise rotation,” crashing into a third vehicle. Rice was responsible for a chain reaction crash that involved 6 vehicles.
“The top speed prior to impact for unit #1 (Rice) was 119 miles per hour and the top speed for unit #2 (Knox) was 116 miles per hour”, the crash report said. Rice and Knox reportedly fled the scene without attending to the injured. It’s reported that two drivers were treated for minor injuries at the crash site and two others were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The crash involved 8 occupants ranging from ages 3 to 54. NBC 5 did due diligence by tapping into the state’s crash reporting system maintained by TxDot but came up empty-handed as the report on there is incomplete and pending investigation. Rice’s attorney, Senator Royce West said that he was privy to the report that was released but refused to comment any further.
Knox’s attorney Deandra Grant is also short of words. Rice and Knox are reportedly being sued for well over $10 million by the victims of the crash. On November 2, 2021, Henry Ruggs, the former Raiders receiver was arrested for a felony DUI which resulted in a death and he was sentenced to 3-10 years of prison in Nevada. He pleaded guilty in May next year for vehicular manslaughter.
