“A mother’s love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.” This saying does hold true in any situation, but using it when the Chiefs are on the verge of achieving the ‘impossible’ seems fitting. It certainly applies to DeAndre Hopkins, given the love and support he has received from his mother, Sabrina Greenlee. Greenlee is a fighter, a survivor, and an inspiration to people all over the world. Recently, she met with another Chiefs player’s mother, who shared some incredible words about her.
It was Mama Mahomes who met Sabrina Greenlee recently and shared a picture of them online. Along with that, she wrote, “Two moms, one love for the game.❤️ Always inspired by the strength, resilience, and beauty of @sabrinagreenlee12 !” Greenlee is an inspirational speaker, author, activist, life coach, and mother of 4 (including DeAndre). Whatever DeAndre has achieved in his career till now, and whatever he does going forward, it is all because of his mother and her love and strength. That is why, every chance he gets, Hopkins tries to honor his mother.

Due to a horrific incident around 23 years ago, Greenlee has not been able to see his son play in the NFL. The Chiefs WR, though, makes sure he pays tribute to her after every touchdown he scores, and that perfectly encapsulates the meaning of the mother-son bond. The same bond was visible in a message that Mama Mahomes had shared for her son after the Bills game. In a heartfelt post, she shared pictures of the game on social media and expressed her love for her son.

She wrote, “All glory to God for this incredible opportunity to witness history in the making. So grateful to watch you pour your heart into what you love, son!” Well, what more can be said!! An interesting thing, though, was the absence of Patrick Mahomes from the NFL Honors 2025, especially given the fact that Mama Mahomes made an appearance.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs snub at the NFL Honors?
Well, the Chiefs players are certainly receiving love and support from their families. Even NFL fans who have a love/hate relationship with the Chiefs have recognized what they have done these past few years. But it seems like the NFL Honors voters haven’t. The team that has won the past two Super Bowls and won 15 games during the season didn’t receive a single accolade at the 2025 NFL Honors. The biggest shock was that even Travis Kelce did not end up winning the award.

Everyone believed that the Chiefs TE would certainly win the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his incredible performance this season. But, well, that wasn’t the case. Jaguars DE Arik Armstead was the eventual winner. Armstead was just phenomenal this season and deserved the award, but neither Kelce nor any other player or coach from the Chiefs won anything at the awards. Well, that seems weird.
Kelce and the Chiefs might not have won anything on awards night, but they wouldn’t care as they aim to win that Super Bowl and complete that 3-peat. The only thing standing in their way is the Eagles. Will the Chiefs do the unthinkable, or will the Eagles stop them? Well, we will find out soon enough.
