Although it has been around eight months since the loss, the heartbreaking offseason cannot be erased from the Mahomes family’s memory. On April 5, Randi Mahomes’ mother, Debbie Bates, died after a serious prolonged illness. The Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and his entire family got solace from the NFL community in their tough times. But as it is said, some things can’t be forgotten. Similarly, for the Mahomes family, this loss became indelible.

Just nine weeks before her death, Bates was found celebrating with the Mahomes family, which Randi updated on her social media. Bates was also spotted cheering for the quarterback from the Chiefs’ suite multiple times and had always remained the reigning MVP’s strength and one of his biggest cheerleaders. However, now after eight months of her passing, Randi revisits the memories that she left at the stadium a year ago.

Randi Mahomes recalls a chapter from her mom’s life

Patrick Mahomes’ mother Randi Mahomes, keeps remembering her mother, graceful Debbie Bates, from time to time. This time again, the 51-year-old revisited her memory, by sharing a sweet post on her Instagram with her 144k followers. The photo uploaded to her story included smiling pictures of Randi’s mother, Debbie, and her daughter, Mia Randall, who posed together for a click.

This photo was taken a year ago at a Chiefs game at the stadium. Randi shared this photo along with a caption saying, “Amazing memory from a year ago. Miss you momma.” In the photo, Mia could be seen donning a black leather jacket and Chiefs jersey underneath it. Whereas, Debbie could be seen cheering by wearing a red puffer jacket, with the Chiefs’ winter cap to support her elder grandson, Patrick Mahomes.

Randi Mahomes is the youngest child of Debbie Bates and Randy Martin, after her two elder sisters, Jill Herrington and Lori Deal, and older brother Joey Martin. After Bates’ death, Randi was shattered, but she picked up her strength and continued to smile in every situation.

But how did she do so? Well, Randi herself hinted at the source behind her smiling face throughout the year.

Randi Mahomes finds solace in music

Although Randi Mahomes is happy and satisfied seeing her children achieve milestones, she finds her inner peace elsewhere. In a story uploaded by Mahomes in July, she shared pictures from a music festival.

Randi loves being at musical festivals, as she finds solace in the melodies, especially after Bates’ loss and the subsequent tough times for her family. She uploaded that musical story to her IG with a caption, “This is where I fight my battles 🙏,” hinting at the source of her strength.

It can be rightly said, especially for Randi Mahomes, that music can heal!
