The Week 3 battle between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers is coming up soon! The Santa Clara team will travel to LA on Sunday, September 22 to play the home team at SoFi Stadium. As the anticipation is high among the teams’ fans, a couple of injury updates have surely disappointed them.
Adam Schefter on his official X account, released the teams’ injury list, and to everyone’s surprise, two Rams players and one 49ers member are out of the game. TE Davis Allen, who is suffering a back injury, and WR Cooper Kupp (ankle), are out of the Week 3 game from the Rams. Now, it’s quite strange to hear this for Kupp’s fans, as the athlete who suffered high-ankle sprain during the team’s 41-10 loss to the Cardinals, was not placed on the injury reserved list. This gave a sense of feeling that he might be healthy soon.
Hence, Rams were expecting him to return soon. But this news has shattered their hopes. While, on the other hand, the team’s three players – Joshua Karty, Cobie Durant and Bobby Brown III are questionable to return in the 49ers game – as they all had limited practice on Friday. Meanwhile, talking about San Francisco, their one star player WR Deebo Samuel is out of the game due to his calf injury.

In addition to him, TE George Kittle, who did not practice on Friday due to his hamstring issue, remains doubtful to step up for Sunday’s matchup. Joining him, under questionable category, are DE Nick Bosa (rib) and CB Charvarius Ward (hamstring/knee). These two showed their limited participation in Friday’s practice.
Now, it will be interesting to see who gets the upper hand this Sunday, as both are equally experiencing the injury concerns.
Rams vs 49ers: Who has the chance to win?
The Rams and the 49ers have played 150 times against each other, during which the Rams have won 69 games and the 49ers 78. They have also tied 3 times. Now, as they are going to play their 151th game this Sunday at 1:25 p.m., fans are eager to know who’s going to win this time.

Have an interesting take?
As per analysts, the Rams are currently seen in a tough spot. Why? Because their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is already feeling the pressure from an injury-plagued offensive line. Now, as Cooper Kupp, Davis Allen and Puka Nacua are out, Stafford will have to rely on players like Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell. Hence, to turn things around, the Rams need to establish a solid rushing game with Kyren Williams. In addition to that, they’re also hoping for a boost from left tackle Alaric Jackson’s return. But we all know, it’s a tough climb ahead.
But everything is not negative. There is something positive as well for the Rams. On the defensive side, they can catch a break since the 49ers will be missing key players like Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel. But again, still, quarterback Brock Purdy has capable receivers in Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings, so the Rams can’t let their guard down.
