Home/NFL

Fox has been leveling up its game for quite some time now. Recently, inspired by Amazon’s fun tradition of having karaoke sessions, they started a similar segment. Not only that, but they’ve also brought former Patriots legend Tom Brady on board. The former Patriots QB covered his first game with the channel alongside reporters Erin Andrews and Kevin Burkhardt on Thanksgiving. Now that the league is in its final phase, we got a little sneak peek into the ‘FOX NFL Kickoff crew.’ And Charissa Thompson couldn’t help but spill some beans about her colleagues.

The ‘NFL Kickoff‘ is a major source of NFL insights for fans. So, what makes it so successful? According to Thompson’s crew, it’s all about her, as they call her the quarterback of the show. But, she credits the show’s success to the chemistry between her and the rest of the crew. That connection is what keeps fans hooked. Hosted by Charissa Thompson, along with Michael Vick, Charles Woodson, Julian Edelman, and Peter Schrager, Thompson spoke about her crew in an interview with Business Traveler USAWell, I guess I’m very lucky that my teammates call me the quarterback, but I take great pride in sitting in that host chair. But I am only as good as my teammates. They are so generous and so kind and allow me to run point and distribute the ball,” said Thompson.

The Fox NFL Kickoff Crew seems to vibe with each other. You can tell they share some serious chemistry. We bond so well off camera that I think it only helps when we’re on camera to show that chemistry that we all have with one another because we genuinely like each other as people”, added the former ESPN presenter.

Besides hosting Fox NFL Kickoff, Charissa Thompson also takes on the role of hosting Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. She also co-hosts the Calm Down Podcast with her friend and fellow Fox colleague, Erin Andrews. Even though she has been in the media game for 17 years, something unexpected happened recently while she was hosting Fox NFL Kickoff that made her get emotional on air.

Charissa Thompson got emotional during ‘Fox NFL Kickoff

Human hearts are complicated, right? No matter how strong we think we are, some moments just make our hearts ache. Charissa Thompson went through something like that recently while hosting her show on Fox. While hosting Fox NFL Kickoff on December 2, Thompson shared a heartfelt story about a 7-year-old young boy named, Aiden Steiner, who was diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Charissa Thompson the real MVP of Fox's NFL coverage, or is it all about the team?

Have an interesting take?

When introducing viewers to Aiden Steiner, she began by saying, Welcome to my lecture. We hear a lot about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and those are great. But we would like to focus for a moment on giving Tuesday a time to give the people in charities in need  a helping hand and our good friend Cam Jordan introduced us to a beautiful young man named Aiden Steiner and his family, whose courageous daily battle continues.”

Thompson got emotional while covering a story about young Aiden, a brave little boy fighting a terminal illness. The video featured Aiden with his family, including his parents and younger brother. It’s tough not to feel heartbroken watching such a young child go through so much. That reflected the humane side of Thompson.

Now that she is leading Fox’s ‘NFL Kickoff‘, fans would expect Charissa to be a successful QB of the show.
