Antonio Pierce and his Las Vegas Raiders are in heaps of trouble. Rookie Safety Trey Taylor made the mistake of calling Patrick Mahomes a “b**ch,” as he channeled his inner puppeteer. He took the Raiders HC’s philosophy of “hating red” to a whole new level. But we know, this heated Chiefs-Raiders rivalry is a new move on the NFL chessboard. It started way back in 1960 and Trey Taylor just added a can of fuel to it.
Post the remark, many believed that an “a** whooping” from Patrick Mahomes was imminent at some point. However, there are few people who still support the Las Vegas Raiders and their savage attitude when it comes to the 3x Super Bowl winners. Adding their name to the list are none other than Nightcap’s Shannon Sharpe and Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.
Johnson directly endorsed Taylor’s crude comment against Mahomes. Chuckling while watching the short clip with Taylor holding a puppet wearing Mahomes’ number 15 jersey and his brown curls, Johnson did not hesitate while saying, “I like it. I like it. It is good for the game.” The former Bengals receiver just provided a practical, gridiron-worthy answer to the rivalry.

“Let’s have some fun. Antonio Pierce is now the new head coach. It’s a new Raiders team. It’s a new era for them. Now all you have to do now, you making fun of the quarterback now, now you got to show up. Time to play! That’s all you got to do. And if I’m not mistaken, the Raiders, they went one and one last year?” said Chad Johnson on Nightcap.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders went twice against each other in the last season. While the Raiders lost the first game 31-17, they made sure to beat Patrick Mahomes and the men in red 20-14 toward the end of the regular season. Do you know one of the reasons why Mahomes lost that game? It’s because he got sacked 4 times in a single game!
That was his worst record of the season. Malcolm Koonce sacked Mahomes 3 times in that game and Adam Butler did the rest of the damage. It’s astonishing how Aidan O’Connell threw for only 62 yards, had no touchdowns, had negative 4 rushing yards but still managed to win the game against the Chiefs maestro. But there’s still a lot of bad blood between these divisional rivals.
Perhaps the men in silver and black are like bulls, ready to be aggressive the moment they see the color red. Credit for that goes to Antonio Pierce, who ignited a fury in Maxx Crosby and the others to “knock off the head of the snake.”
The heated moments between Patrick Mahomes and Maxx Crosby

Both Mahomes and Crosby respect each other off the field. But when they’re on the field, the two are worse than sworn enemies. Crosby likes to bully Patrick Mahomes for some reason. That famous “I’m here” moment happened back in 2022 when the Chiefs won against the Raiders by a razor-thin margin of 30-29. The iconic photo of Mahomes and Crosby bumping helmets came from that game.
If there’s one lesson to be taken from the game, it’s that Mahomes can come in clutch anytime. The Raiders learned that the hard way. Antonio Pierce wasn’t even the head coach of the team at that time. But when he got that position, he made one thing straight. He wanted the Raiders to hate the Chiefs with their guts.

“Maxx knows exactly how we built up that week, what I was doing to build up that week — to hate the color red,” Pierce said. “We saw red, we hate red. It was on that kind of level, right? And I told ‘em, there’s a difference between dislike and hatred. There’s a hatred for the Chiefs.” The Raiders HC even came up with “Patrick Mahomes Rules,” which had a lot of battering directed toward the QB in red.
Mahomes recently took the podium after practice and addressed the Kermit the Frog situation. It was funny at first, but Mahomes delivered his stance in style. The 3x Super Bowl Champ QB said, “It’ll get handled when it gets handled.” Despite such ferocity in both teams, it is the momentum that will be appreciated by the fans. As Johnson pointed out, “I like it, me as a player, from a competitive standpoint.” That is what both professionals and fans will look forward to on October 27 at 1:25 PM PDT—a healthy, competitive face-off.
